Is Ukraine about to have a war?
Never assume ulterior motives for what can be readily explained by gross incompetence (especially when the government is involved - see the thread on the Delta pilot's room being raiding by the FBI...).

The leader of an online group behind suspected US military document leaks is national guardsman Jack Teixeira, officials have told NBC News.
Teixeira, 21, is said to have overseen a private online group, containing around 30 people, in which the leaked documents were shared.
He is a member of the intelligence wing of the Massachusetts Air National Guard, according to interviews and documents reviewed by The New York Times.
Officials told Sky News' US partner network, NBC News, that they have been on to him for some time and that an arrest is imminent.

AS-90 in Ukraine

Ecce Homo! Loquitur...
Ukrainian special forces created a website with instructions on how to be a partisan in the occupied territories and how to help them and don't get caught. The website has it all: how to survive in filtration camp, how to encrypt your data, how to spy safely.…
If you are an employee of the occupying power:
"Order expensive, high-quality materials that are difficult to obtain. Warn that ordinary materials will mean poor quality work. Also purchase excess unnecessary materials."
Yes! SPEND ALL THE RUSSIANS MONEY ON CRAP!

T55's reportedly at the front. However, I doubt, even if true, that those would be used as front line weapons, more likely a back up infantry support role.
Noting additional classifications such as NOFORN or SCI - one gets the impression that on Intelweb or whatever other classified platforms exist, you essentially have an airgapped, classified parallel Internet containing Top Secret intelligence information, be it text, imagery or video which all Five Eyes nations have access to.
The no foreign eyes, or special compartmentalised information categories are some of the many carve outs that presumably can be managed by network access protocols.
But even then it seems a lot of people in the US have access to Top secret NoForn intelligence.
Which may explain why a relatively low-ranking US national guardsman had access to such highly sensitive information about the Ukraine war.
Russian Troll accounts flooding social media right now with disinformation about this leak
Just sad that we let it happen to us and don't fight back. We let them get away with murder.

A good point made elsewhere about the leaks.
There's a whole Chat Group of 10-20 people involved who didn't report him when he started sharing the data, probably encouraged him and discussed it - and some who then shared the material on other servers/sites. All of whom have also committed federal felony offences.
I would imagine there will be lots of them frantically explaining things to their families and seeking legal advice whilst sweating waiting for a loudhailer call to back out if the house with their hands behind their backs.
And no, the FBI won’t treat them as just misguided kids…

Wishful thinking most likely (I wish it were true myself). Occam's razor suggests this is exactly what it is - an immature 'boy' given more access to sensitive data than he ever should have been, and showing it off to try and impress his online mates. I just hope he hasn't caused too much damage.

There are some posts online saying he was being watched for some time, I do hope that they started to feed disinformation his way in the hope that he would post it online, thus killing two birds in one go, getting credible false information out there whilst getting himself to incriminate his sorry ass, so he could be arrested and charged, thus adding plausibility to the leaked information..

Telegraph today reporting the the SU27 missile release in the vicinity of the RAF Rivet Joint last year was a deliberate shoot-down attempt, due to misunderstood comms. The missile either failed, or was defeated by countermeasures.

Perhaps the info that this kid was given was misleading as Nutty says.
Changing the odd word in a document which is sent to different people gives you a good idea where to start your search.
It also allows the FBI to collar a relatively minor individual and sends a message to others who might stray from the righteous path - we are watching you.
My sincere hope is that no damage has been done and the FSB are now on a wild goose chase reacting to spurious information, while pulling themselves apart looking for spies in their midst. It would appear nobody is safe in Russia and nobody trusts anybody else. Better bump off the next chap before he bumps me off.
There has been very little said from the Ukrainian side other than the usual comments. Might be this was planned - I do hope so.

So he might get ten years? Not that much given the TS stuff leaked and what Assange got threatened with.
