To be honest, I think I've had the question answered now. As Bo Nalls says, on the website it clearly states Officer jobs come up in the search.

Does anybody know if Officer training/flying training of some sort gives you university credits?
QM - 360 points is over twice the minimum required for Officer entry, and is equivalent to 3 x A at A2 (A level), so well done.

I don't have one single formal educational qualification but I have been professional aircrew for almost 20 years
Get your local AFCO to ask the right questions of the right people and you will be fine, best of luck chap

Yea I had my presentation today. I've chatted with them about it and then today randomly the Sgt said "I think they will be fine but I'll have to check". Which just sent me into a mild panic, lol.

I am waiting for a date for OASC and was wondering whether there is certain dates where selection takes place or is it just when they get a certain amount of people waiting they organise it?

Learn from your mistakes and brush up on your spelling, if you expect serious answers, be serious in your approach.

Let's all re-read his original post and consider whether you would like him to be writing anyone's confidential or appraisal reports - let alone flying RAF aircraft!
As I type I note that the PPrune engine puts a squiggly red line underneath badly spelllllllled wurds as I type. How hard can it be to present oneself in a sensible way? It is especially unwise to unggggrammaticaly be and mizpelt on this particular forum and still be appealing for advice!
I dearly hope this has been a wind up.

With your 2 recn't A levels in Engl'sh - one assumes Lit & Lang - you should be the expert!

I too have a BTEC Diploma (mechanical and electrical engineering) and that was good enough (with 8 GCSE thingies) to get into the RN as an officer. Frankly, a degree in under-water basket weaving is hardly the most applicable education for the forces so why not transllate your B-TEC into A-levels? I suggest you fill in an application and start reading the Times/Telegraph/Economist etc and get your head back into the books (maths and english) in order to get back up to speed for some exams at whichever entrance you decide to take. You'll either be good enough to pass or you won't - only one way to find out.

QM - whilst some of the members of this board are very up tight about grammar and the English language as a whole, there is reason behind their rantings.
Making yourself understood, in all mediums, is very important - even more so as an Officer. Remember that most of those who write here are or have been where you want to be in the RAF. That means they have passed the tests you are yet to face and that they have pride in the RAF and the standards held.

Why not go to Univeristy and complete a degree. Whilst at Uni join a UAS or go for a busary. It would stand you miles ahead of a guy with no mil experience.
Other suggestions would be to join the cadets.
Even if you have a degree or A levels you would need to have GCSE English and Maths (maths related subject) at grade C or above for officer entry.
Hope this helps a little

Yea I have my place at University next year, with an unconditional offer, where I hope to join a UAS. If I can’t get myself into a UAS for whatever reason, I’ll try for the UOTC. Both look great.

QM when you have , as suggested revised your grasp of english, and obtained a degree, do you think in view of many of the replies on this forum, that you will still wish to join the modern(present) Royal Air Force ?
