Rest in Peace
Ex 42, CXX, 206, 201. Kinloss has been my life for the last 10 years. Heartfelt condolences to families, friends, and all affected in the local community.
Rest in Peace boys in the great scruffs bar in the sky. You will be sorely missed and forever remembered.

Don't know any of the details as I've just heard the news but my thoughts are with those left behind at Kinloss and elsewhere.

The banter is high between fleets in the bar but it is comforting to see us pulling together in our thoughts and prayers now.
From 8 miles down the road I wish you Godspeed fellow aviators and hope, as a military family, we can provide your families some support and comfort.

I am beside myself. Ever since I heard the news last night I have thought of little else but the poor souls onboard. This is a time where I wished I lived in so that we could all get together and raise a toast to you all in the right way.
The best years of my RAF career were at Kinloss and my condolences go out to all the families and friends of the guys/girls that were involved.

I Am So Sorry
To the families, wives, children, mums and dads, bothers and sisters, loved ones, friends and work colleagues - I am so very sorry and my thoughts are with you.
If there is any consolation the crews of the kipper fleet are doing a very real and worthwhile job in Afghanistan at the moment and I can personally say that I (as well as the AH boys) certainly owe alot of the provision ISTAR and SA to the Nimrod capability (a certain Op will forever stick in my mind!) which hopefully not only has protected other airborne types, but also the lads/lasses on the ground in the Platoon Houses and on the Ops.
I am so very sorry.

Peacefully onwards and upwards..
They came in the evening, then, and found Ionathan gliding
peaceful and alone through his beloved sky. The two gulls that
appeared at his wings were pure as starlight, and the glow from
them was gentle and friendly in the high night air. But most
lovely of all was the skill with which they flew, their wingtips
moving a precise and constant inch from his own. Without a word,
Jonathan put them to his test, a test that no gull had ever
passed. He twisted his wings, slowed to a single mile per hour
above stall. The two radiant birds slowed with him, smoothly,
locked in position. They knew about slow flying.
He folded his wings, rolled and dropped in a dive to a hundred
ninety miles per hour. They dropped with him, streaking down in
flawless formation.
At last he turned that speed straight up into a long vertical
slow-roll. They rolled with him, smiling.
He recovered to level flight and was quiet for a time before he
spoke. "Very well," he said, "who are you?"
"We're from your Flock, Jonathan. We are your brothers." The
words were strong and calm. "We've come to take you higher, to
take you home."
"Home I have none. Flock I have none. I am Outcast. And we fly
now at the peak of the Great Mountain Wind. Beyond a few hundred
feet, I can lift this old body no higher."
"But you can Jonathan. For you have learned. One school is
finished, and the time has come for another to begin."
As it had shined across him all his life, so understanding
lighted that moment for Jonathan Seagull. They were right. He
could fly higher, and it was time to go home.

This is the only place I can offer my condolences, and I am off to church shortly where I will offer my prayers for the brave guys who died yesterday. They have my deepest respect and thanks for the sacrifice they were prepared to and did make. God bless you all and comfort your families. Thoughts with all at Kinloss too in your great loss.
