Wow, what was the odds of having engine failure at height and auto rotate on top of the ONLY vehicle in a otherwise empty field

The moment of truth

Some terrific entries to a not-very caption friendly photo.

3rd - Traffic Is Er Was:
Greyhound's aviation division would prove to be a short lived folly.

2nd - Wensleydale:
"Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings

My *rse."

1st - Pontius Navigator:

"And so Airbus was born"

proving that brevity is the soul of wit.
Your CST is en route slung under an Airbus...

Not a joke:

One day we were flying low over the Empty Quarter, as you do, when we saw a pair of wheel tracks baked in the desert. Then they stopped. It didn't occur at the time that they may have been from a Landie dropped off from a Helo.

As with bungee jumping, it's necessary to adjust the arrestor wire very precisely to the speed and weight of the landing aircraft when on a short runway terminating at the foot of a cliff. Unlike bungee jumping where it is considered a bonus if the jumper dips their head in the water, aircraft should not be allowed to hit the cliff, be it ever so gently.

The Board of Inquiry is satisfied that the man's helmet saved his life, even though it was knocked off in the incident, but is of the more important view that if he'd been wearing hi-viz, the incident might have been avoided altogether.
