Military Aviation A forum for the professionals who fly military hardware. Also for the backroom boys and girls who support the flying and maintain the equipment, and without whom nothing would ever leave the ground. All armies, navies and air forces of the world equally welcome here.

"He says do we want a race up this valley, there will be some chaps at the other end to see who wins, I say.... It would be an insult to the Regiment if we don't accept the blaggards wager, I'll get the chaps and we will show him what a light brigade can do at full charge, we'll give him a run for his money"

The sooner those things are assigned to the Navy, and flown off ships, the better. The horses are scared stiff of them.

Well, thankfully the horses seem quite unperturbed Sergeant, but the memsahib went over the far hedge like Glenside taking Beecher's Brook

"I say, Murgatroyd! Soon they shall have Sopwiths and we shall have Camels too!"

- or -

Those magnificent men in their flying machines!
They go up-tiddly-up-up, they go down-tiddly-down-down!
They enchant all the ladies and steal all the scenes,
With their up-tiddly-up and their down-tiddly-down!
Up, down, flying around,
Looping the loop and defying the ground!
They're all frightfully keen -
Those magnificent men in their flying machines!

Gratuitous Shot Of Thomas Terry Hoar-Stevens

Sir, it looks like some kind of illusion.
I'm afraid not Hoskins, it'll be another 30 years or so before he builds any aircraft.

In the years between WW3 and WW4 despite the Moscow Convention Germany starts to build fighter planes. What's been before will come round again
