The winning tender for the AAC and US Marine's new joint reconnaissance transport (JRT) aircraft combines the airborne observation role's requirement for a lightweight airframe with the all-terrain capability demanded by the liaison role.

The idea that the larger the wheel equates to a reduction in tyre wear due to distance travelled in one revolution had its merits, though the practicalities left something to be desired.
