EK interview

Hello everybody

I have an upcoming EK assessment very soon and I'm looking for possible questions, study advices ecc... I had a look also to latestpilotjobs website....is all that stuff reliable and up to date?

Thanx a lot for your help.

Good luck to all DEC applicants.
I am trying to assess what ek are looking for exactly. Runcorn Bridge are you a TRI/TRE? I applied at the same time as you and am only short listed. I have more experience than your profile suggests but mainly Boeing time and no new Airbus. So the key seems to be training experience and possibly airbus time.
Anyone else care to discuss?:)

Runcorn Bridge 11th Mar 2012 07:01

No I'm not a TRI/TRE. I'm a regular line capt. I did however apply for a capt position through the FO application just prior to the DEC opening. Don't know if that helped. I too have a lot of Boeing time. As you say maybe my current A320 status also swung it.

But you're shortlisted, be patient, i'm sure they'll be in touch very soon.

' For information on our recently updated terms and conditions for Flight Crew positions'

Anybody has an idea of the 'updates'?

Hi all...

Is it true that EK are now using the A320 sim as well for assesment at DXB?

Any info pls...

Cheers...

EKB777 12th Mar 2012 15:39

Yes, they are mainly using A310 and A320 sims in Dubai for selections.
Out of Dubai they tend to use 'conventional' aircraft ie: Boeing 737, 757 type sims, but configured as a generic Aircraft.

I've heard there is a kind of handbook around the net about EK interview but I actually cannot find it....can anybody be of any help? Is it useful?

Thanx a lot

Quick question; I have read on the forums, here and others that guys are getting the first two stage interviews without holding an ATPL... Is this correct???

if so, how do I go about doing this? I just put my app in a few weeks ago, 6k total, 3,800 on the 700/900 RJ. I will have the ATPL this July(company provided), and most likely a type in aug/sept. I got what looked like a generated response informing me that I presently did not meet the requirements, and to update app when I receive the license.

Thanks in advance....

chrislikesblue 13th Mar 2012 12:50

I am short of 450 hours of meeting the requirements. Would my application be taken into consideration? I understand from their website that we can apply when we are short of up to 500 hours from minimum requirements. Is this correct?

falcon10 13th Mar 2012 14:57

Does EK deduct the training bond from your pay like QR does?

GShocker 13th Mar 2012 19:13

Nilley: That is an automated reply which just looks that you lack of some requirement. I received a similar one (I did not hold an ATPL when applying) but still got an invitation to selection programme (look below). Just be patient.

Chrislikesblue: They do accept applications lack of 500 hours but they want you to fill all the requirements when they invite you to Dubai for tests. I did psychological tests, interview and sim in London and after receiving ATPL and getting 2500hrs together I will be invited to Dubai for the rest of the PSP.

wayupthere 13th Mar 2012 19:58

I did my entire application with less thn the 2500hrs, I did have the ATPL

chrislikesblue 14th Mar 2012 06:03

Wayupthere did you put in your application that you have the minimum requirements of 2500 hrs as you were expecting to reach these hours soon or you put your actual hours?

wayupthere 14th Mar 2012 06:56

I put actual hours, I got an automated email back stating I was below the requirements, a few weeks later I was at one of the PSPs!

hunterboy 14th Mar 2012 16:15

Just got an invite as DEC barely 1 week after updating my profile from about 5 years ago. They seem to have plenty of dates available. Seems a bit stingy not to invite the wife out to DXB if they are so concerned about families settling in.

groundtoflightdeck 14th Mar 2012 16:52

Are people getting the shortlisted emails getting invites to PSP pretty quickly after that then?

Aviator29a 14th Mar 2012 19:36

Short listed

Not really been short listed since January 15 no coms what so ever.l think it depends on many factors ,it seems right now they are looking for DECs and ratings are also a major factor.:ugh:

tdk90 14th Mar 2012 19:41

Directly from a recruiter they are prioritising DEC and rated Airbus pilots, being neither of those, I'm on hold...

groundtoflightdeck 14th Mar 2012 20:34

Rated on the 330/340? I'm 320 rated assuming thats not super exciting for them right now.

safelife 14th Mar 2012 20:59

Rated on A330 I was invited within days after application.
Seems to confirm was tdk said.
