Shortlist for interview

Hi,

I have all the requirements, but no NG time, wonder if that will count against me?

Regards

Mach_Krit 26th Feb 2012 13:15

good day gentlemen,

may i suggest you have a look at skytest for middle eastern carriers in regards to stage 1 of the psp

safelife 26th Feb 2012 13:15

For the statistics: shortlisted 24 h after application, got invited 3 days later. 4 k total, the 2.5 >55 and also rated on EK type with some hours.

glorybusdriver 26th Feb 2012 14:20

Shortlisted

Hi Safelife,

I have 7.5k total time, 5.5k on over 55t, but not type rated.
Is Emirates still planning to recruit about 500 pilots this year?

Regards

Kernow 101 26th Feb 2012 14:42

Glorybusdriver,

At the interview I asked that question and they confirmed same numbers expected again for this year as last.

McNulty 26th Feb 2012 14:43

Yes according to the guys at a roadshow 2 weeks ago they need 500 pilots this year. I'm shortlisted too (couple of hundred short of 2500 >55t)....will let you know about any updates.

glorybusdriver 26th Feb 2012 15:47

Thank you for the replies.
I see the online application open DEC.
Emirates must then recruit about 42 pilots a month.

falcon10 26th Feb 2012 18:10

Shortlisted 2 days after app, 9000+ hours in relevant a/c. Still waiting myself.

Where is your interview?

Bamoes 26th Feb 2012 22:05

Hi Guys,

Same here, Applied 30th Jan., got an email that it can take 2-3 months before further actions. Got my hours to go to the next step.

MerAir80 27th Feb 2012 02:25

I applied on the 2nd of Dec, shortlisted after 3 days, and still shortlisted. No idea or clues. 5500h on aircrafts over 55T, 32 YO. I can't understand what's the process or how the queue is going on. 3 months ago, my app form was only partially complete, just general info and hours and type rating. They sent me an email, telling me that I seemed to have all the requirements and eventually asking me to complete it so that they could have processed it and invited me to Dubai. Guess what? Completed the application, shortlisted, still here getting moldy! It would be very useful and very appreciated if people who have already attended the selection in the recent past would say something about their time spent in this LIMBO. This would help us to understand some more about this unpredictable process. Thanks!

Unsuccessful...

If unsuccessful at the interview what is the current time frame you have to wait to reapply?
Do any of you got invited twice at the interview?
Sorry if it is a repost but I would like to know their current policy.
I heard 2 years, then I heard 6 months...

david2000 27th Feb 2012 02:50

Who's going to the ATL PSP on march for the sim only?

km5 27th Feb 2012 15:00

Unsuccessful...

They tell you depending on the individual. Some people have been told 6 months, some 2 years. Generally if its just the Sim it can be 6 months but if they want you to get more life/flight time experience they will say 2 years

Hi

I applied to EK recently with just over 2000hrs on a 50t jet as I saw on the website that one can apply 500hrs early. I just received an email telling me that I don't meet the minimum requirements and that I should update my application regularly.

Have I missed something?

donpizmeov 1st Mar 2012 11:25

About 500hrs I think.

UN614 1st Mar 2012 12:50

Requirements for the Position of First Officer
- A minimum of 4000 hours total flying time (may include 25% P3 or FEO time to a max of 500 hours)
- A minimum of 2000 hours multi-crew, multi-engine jet aircraft (P3 time cannot be used for this requirement).
OR
- A minimum of 2500 hours total flying time on a modern commercial multi-engine, multi-crew aircraft jet (P3 time cannot be used for this requirement)

We do not accept simulator time for flying hours calculation.
- Must hold a valid ICAO ATPL
- English language fluency (written and verbal comprehension); ICAO English level (4 or above)
- Must be current within 12 months of joining
- Experience commensurate with age
- Type rating would be advantageous

To be invited to the Selection Programme in Dubai, we will consider candidates who are short up to 500 hours of the above requirements.

Forgive me, but having read this I thought I met the requirements to be considered for selection while being 500hrs short of the joining criteria.

I really hope that EK gets rid of this 30ton rule (unofficial as it doesnt state this requirement on their website). I have more way more than the minimum time (4000total/2500jet) but because i dont have enough time on a 30ton aircraft i wont be invited for an interview.. I have receieved an email from EK stating as much..

What really irritates me though is some people complaining that they not getting interviews when they have less than half the total hours i do..

Bamoes 2nd Mar 2012 08:23

Did anyone of you contacted EK and offered them a possible date when you know you can get OFF or leave? Because i'll have the possibility to take some leave in APR.

flyzede 2nd Mar 2012 08:41

UN614 is right...

UN614, I guess you're right. If they state that you can apply with 500 hours less than the minimum requirements that should fit you!
I'm also with 2100 jet and I was thinking to apply, but regarding your situation I guess I'll just wait a bit more...
Can you please keep in touch with me so I can learn more about your progress?

Thanks!
