Hello

Wondering if I can re-apply to EK having failed the sim at the selection last July. I heard that there is a chance to re-apply after 6 months...

Does anybody have a phone number or email at EK I can contact to confirm this...

Kind Regards,

Hi Roy,

I believe the wait is 24 mouths before the will look at you again.
Even with the demand for pilots. Their not budging on that.

Try and email [email protected]

Cheers

On standby for EK PSP

Hello everyone. I had been confirmed for Madrid's PSP a couple of months ago but one week ago I received an email apologizing for having to leave me on standby due to the amount of CVs received lately from pilots flying "common cockpits" with EK. Does anyone have any idea on what happened?, I mean why would they confirm a date two months ago and now ten days before the tests put me in standby?. Has this happened to anybody else? I'm looking forward to fly for EK, I hope they give me a chance in following PSP.
I've read a few posts from people who seem to know what's cooking in EK, I hope someone can help!!
:ok:

Hi bluesadditct,

What type are you flying? I ask you that because I wonder if they consider the A320 an "EK common cockpit".

bluesaddict 4th Mar 2012 18:49

I'm flying RJ.:{

transport jock 4th Mar 2012 19:15

are you flying rj200, or also the 7/900?

bluesaddict 4th Mar 2012 20:15

I'm flying both 900/1000.:)

Mach_Krit 5th Mar 2012 07:35

bluesaddict, I have heard that happen to a few acquaintances of mine. Got invited and then put on standby...allegedly due to the high amount of CV´s coming in from Spanair and Malev guys...

bluesaddict 5th Mar 2012 13:14

Thanks for the info:). Any idea on whether we will be invited in a near future? I was looking forward to the chance of joining them.:ouch::ouch:

bluesaddict 5th Mar 2012 13:23

I'm gonna write this message as a new thread so maybe someone from Emirates can give some valuable info on the matter.:ok:

30 ton rule?

I did not see any requirement about that. I have more than 5500 total, all but about 2000 of that is jet. I have over 1500 Jet PIC (CRJ 200) and over 1700 hours of RJ 85 Avro FO time. Will I be competitive to get an interview?

cirrus_konbin 6th Mar 2012 14:41

Who are going to join their program this month at Dubai? I'm going at the end of March:). Any update from the early group;)?

parahawk 8th Mar 2012 00:22

okay so 5500 hours, 1500 pic jet (CRJ), 1700 (FO) over 90,000 pounds, former military officer, one black mark on my record of a minor misdemeanor. Got the rejection letter a week after applying. I was not expecting this. Should I reapply? They would not say why. ??????/

Recently passed all the exams in dubai including the medical successfully for EK. Got an email two weeks later said that they turned my application down finally. Anyone else had a same situation?
Wondering if the new DEC and Spanair and Malev crashes has made them rethink their intake of F/Os?

Easy Ryder 9th Mar 2012 11:44

IF you passed your medical, then blame probably lies with one of your references

ManualFlight 9th Mar 2012 12:06

G'day to all!

This morning I have reviewed my application on the EK website. The status is now "shortlisted". As far as I know they will contact me now via telephone - is that right?

From your expierience: how long do you estimate the period to be until I might receive a call/email?

Thx and have a great weekend!

subria023 9th Mar 2012 12:52

Got an email saying that I'm shortlisted two days after submitting my application. That was three months ago and still no call/email. The email said being shortlisted does not guarantee an interview. Guess it depends on many factors.

geggan 9th Mar 2012 15:38

I know my references said only good things. Does anybody know if they perhaps contact the company in any form outside the references specified? My company is having boatloads of pilots leaving, desperate times, desperate means...

Runcorn Bridge 9th Mar 2012 22:09

My application was short listed two days after applying for DEC, got my interview invite a week later. Going on the 26-29th March assessment. So from applying to arriving in Dubai will have taken one month.

Anybody know if there are any differences between the FO and DEC assessments? Especially the sim??

CR9 10th Mar 2012 11:31

If you were rejected after passing the medical one or a combination of 3 things happened. 1st: if you were borderline on day 3 (panel and group interview/excercise) they send you to the medical then they compare notes at a later date and see if the "notes" are something they can live with, the actual decision is made higher up. 2nd: ties into the 1st but has to do with the psychologist meeting/interview, their notes are also compared with the panel's and again if there's something's they both have picked up on then that's it. Lastly, as mentioned earlier is the references and since you get to pick them they better be good.
