Fear
When I joined, the medical I completed during selection was sufficient. The medical after joining will be for vaccinations. This of course assumes it isn't eons between selection and joining. Good Luck Mudd |
Can someone please tell me whats the best way to take a small pet with you when you first go to Dubai? Can the wife bring the pet with her as cargo and paying a fee(if yes how much is it, discount as crew?)?(all vaccinations will be done)
|
Good idea to bring the pet.. they are so desperate they may screen him as well for the Airbus fleet...

does anyone know what kinds of questions to expect on the written test at the interview? I heard some regs, but which regs? GCAA? Thanks for the help

Assessment at EK with a Frozen ATPL
I have been updating my hours on the website for a while and I have got the 2500 hours in a 737 and I was hoping that I would be considered for an assessment. However I work for an airline based out of the ROI who insisted that I converted my UK license to a IAA license. Last year my sim dates changed last minute and I was only able to give the IAA 9 days notice of my LPC instead of the required 10 days. Hence they told me that I could not unfreeze my ATPL. 6 months ago I also asked if they could change my opc to an lpc as I had given the required 10 days notice to the IAA to unfreeze my ATPL but I was told the check had to be an OPC :ugh: My LPC is set to expire at the end of Jan but at the same time there is a rumor going around the company that the said airline I work for will not allow the unfreezing of ATPLs until you sign an agreement to command upgrade?!?!?!
Does anyone know if there is any chance of doing the assessment with EK and then unfreezing your ATPL after wards. I even have a contact that will help me do this if I convert it back to a UK license. Any help appreciated cheers flying on empty |
FOE, sadly EK will not interview you without a full ATPL end of......
I don't see what the hell Ryan Air can legally do to stop you un-freezing your ATPL. It is YOUR personal licence not the companies! I would personally seek advice from the CAA...... Good luck |
They probably want to keep you from applying to better places since most airlines ask for an ATPL in order to apply... I am in the same situation but in a different part of the world...good luck!
|
FOE,
I just confirmed the unfreezing of my ATPL at the next RST. No problems, and no mention of new contract or anything else untoward. Flight deck 'chinese whispers' at work again ;) |
FOE - check your Msgs.
On another note, when I attended the Roadshow in the UK, the presenter was asked 'what the attrition rate was' and the answer was 1% (?!) I find this incredibly low given the reading here, any light on the matter guys? I however was impressed with the rest of the presentation....smoke and mirrors? |
Deadheading
Guys, deadheading in EK is in First/Buss class or in economy?

Recruitment team in USA in November
I read on their website that Emirates will be attending the careers fair in the USA on November 20th - Washington, DC area at the Hyatt Dulles in Hendon, VA if anyone is keen to speak to them.

Hey guys, I know there have been a lot of questions being asked and thanks to those who have been doing their best to answer.
My question has to do with the messages I've seen posted about a SIM eval in ATL. What is the deal with this? I am slotted for a NOV 28 - DEC 1 interview in Dubai and I was under the impression that I would be doing my sim eval out there on Day 1. Should I instead be expecting to go to ATL for this? For those of you who have done the SIM testing in ATL, when were you notifed about this? And how did you get to ATL? Does Emirates fly you out there or are you expected to pay for airfare? So if you pass the SIM testing in ATL, do you just show up in Dubai for days 2-4 of the interview process? Thanks for any help on this! |
Duckbutter, what's ATL by the way? Sorry a noob here.
