rumours from the headshed are that recruitment bans are in place, if you are from a certain South American country, a particular A320 operator on the sub continent your applications are unlikely to be assessed.

My group interviewed just over 2 months ago, half of the guys are still waiting to hear if they passed/failed. They told us we will have feedback if successful or not within one - two weeks post interview. So things are going very slow.

Why do you guys want to join if you get frustrated about the joining process already? This is just the beginning, once you are in Doha things will get much worse than this!

Great, they should stop hiring DEC without wb experience. Terrible level of dec's lately. They have to be babysitted by sfo's who would do a much better job.

We've had some pretty bad DECs at my company too and they came from WB. DECs are DECs and they can be good or bad until they adapt to the new operation and SOPs no matter what airplane they flew before.

Hey guys, anyone else supposed to be in Doha on the 3rd and 4th of August?
I'm supposed to leave in 3 days... Didn't get any travel documentation yet.
Does anyone have a list of documents we need to bring to Doha, so I can prepare in advance?
Thanks!

Joining date postponed

Hi everyone, I had a joining date the 3rd of July but it keeps getting postponed due to “internal approvals” i know that it is a common issue. Can anyone tell me how long they were postponed before actually joining? I am 787/777 rated with 7000 hours, starting as FO or SFO, time with tell i guess…

Yes, few guys from my group still waiting for an answer.

Does anyone have an idea if people get an acceptance after 2 months? Or can you just write it off and assume you never going to hear back?

Ridiculous comment.
I'm sure if you joined another company you wouldn't be the strongest candidate the training department have ever seen. Sounds like you're a sky god though.

Maybe Qatar should just be more selective.

having worked in recruitment at QR for couple of years I can say anything is possible- but wouldn’t give up yet!
At least several years ago it was allowed for husband and wife to both work.

Welcome to QR. Your delay should not be long, in terms of weeks or 1-2 months, based on a previous joiner. Please understand that you will only join as an FO, and do the time as required before SFO and command. Currently command will be years away.
