For the record I have at least 7 friends on different types that got postponed DOJ due to what they say “internal approvals.” Does anyone know what that is or might be? And they totally know that these dudes resigned from their old gigs to join the shiny airlines. Its a warning to anyone joining this airlines, see its never rainbows and butterflies over here.

Nobody joined yet and they got delayed starting from March and few during May and a couple this very month. For the record none of them got a visa nor a new joining date. Indians and Middle eastern pals are among the postponed.

Word on the street is extra scrutiny of the applicant licenses, as was alluded to in an earlier post. Apparently the number of fake certificates from particular regions appear to be many. My guess is this has put the brakes on while they figure out how to verify the submissions.

Over the next year the company will hire almost 1000 pilots to cover the attrition and ex pilots that decided not to come back in addition to a small fleet expansion.
At the moment B777 is still the most short fleet with flights crewed with double Captains due to lack of First-Officers.
There are some extra Airbus planes added for the World Cup from a partner airline but they are leaving the fleet afterwards. Furthermore no planes are joining as new orders are far away.
Whoever wants to join will get their chance in time, take into account over 20000 applications received. The delays are due to various reasons, in the past some people had their joining dates removed to be put on hold for over a year and were asked to do reapply again. Licensing is an issue with many people from Africa and East Asia, these countries have usually long and slow license verification. If you're having a license from an EASA country and verification is fast you'll likely avoid these delays although there are many other reasons to have your date postponed.
Sit back and wait. As an advice don't break your bridges with your previous employer and make sure you can rejoin them in case QR doesn't want you anymore or delays your joining date significantly. There have been pilots who ended up being unemployed trying to join QR.
For those waiting for a result of the interview. Anything over 4 weeks usually you have passed if they didn't give you a reply yet. I have a friend who waited 9 months for the positive outcome thus again just wait...

Guys any one has an update on B777/787 direct entry captain. Applied in Dec, didnt hear anything yet.
I thought they were really in need of 777/787 captains, specially when guys in QR flew a-lot during pandemic.
any info would be appreciated.

Hey I am A320 rated. Passed the first stage online and got invited to the Assessment in Doha in June. Everything confirmed from both sides and I should receive the travel and assessment details soon. In the end, I never ever heard from them again. No replies from Glenda and Eunice to my emails and nobody ever picked up the phone when I tried to call them. Very disappointing and unprofessional.

You should be happy that you know exactly how they work before you join. Expect the same thing after you'd have joined, so choose wisely.
