Is there anyone who passed the assessment, got a verbal offer, got a date of joining, and whose joining was delayed several times for about 40 days so far and still waiting? Being told that the reason is "Internal approval pending". It looks like there is a group of persons in this condition. If so please PM me.

did you get a e-mail confirmation after the phone call with the DOJ?
I have heard this happening, delaying the DOJ once or even twice, wonderig what approval would be pending at that stage.

As long as Pilots que up to join them, no matter what the t&c are, they will never stop treating them this way.
No Doctor or an Engineer or an MBA grad would be treated this way by any company in the world.
If they cant get their sh*t together, they shouldn't hire !

Mr Baker talks of the Ukraine/Russia conflict escalating across borders....Really? Name one country that would get involved?
Also, he talks of re-routing around Ukraine... a big deal. Qatar did much worse than this for a few years with the blockade.
Oil prices will of course have an impact on profit.
All this is to lay the foundations for the incoming elevated ticket prices.

The Ukraine conflict could definitely escalate, that's why Finland and Sweden are planning to join NATO and flying around Russia isn't exactly cheap have you seen the size of it. The blockade really hurt QR, at least the state will be making much money $$$ on the back of the rising cost of energy so something positive. These delayed chopping and changing start date stories are giving me the heebie-jeebies but it's better to know what we're getting ourselves into.

As I mention, which country has any appetite to join this conflict? I suggest none.
We are not flying around Russia, we are flying into Russia and flying around Ukraine... big difference and this is nothing quite as severe as the blockade was.
With regard to the start dates changing, this is nothing new here; it is simply a reflection of our poor management and planning. So yes, it is good to know what you are getting into. Qatar Airways is a shower of shit, where the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. The new joiners aren't even enough to replace the monthly exodus of pilots escaping.... forget any expansion, this is damage limitation at the moment.

I am sorry to hear about your situation, are you still in your old gig or already resigned? Which type were you assigned too, I also have a friend that was put in a holding pool an airbus skipper.

Same but different, On Assessment day told me that I passed, on Sim day got told I got passed. After 3 weeks an email that I have to try again in 6months. (All the other guys got fail/offer emails 1-2 day after assessment) Why me after 3 weeks?

Some guys in my batch are still waiting for a decision after 4 weeks. When was your Last IR PPC?

Before you sign on the dotted line, enquire about medical insurance, loss of license (lack there of) and the current policy on sick leave.

Hey mate,
For what its worth I too had my joining date changed 3 times. Finally joined a month later than first joining date given. Relatively smooth sailing since. Hang in there - loads of guys joining in May - both fleets.
