Hey all,
I applied as Boeing typerated 1600 h on the 20th of February. So far I have received just the confirmation email. Friends been already invited for the interview in Doha. Personally not even invited to do the online test. Do they inform me if they'll not consider my application. Do you receive any rejection email?

Hi mischo1990 , same here, just did my PSA online but still no reply from them. As for the pay, yes 9100$ is without any housing allowance as you will be staying the house provided by QR, for fresh staff like us. 22,500 QAR basic + 10,000 QAR based on 100 hour block and 1500 QAR for some miscellaneous allowance, so that will make it around 34,000 QAR which is approximately 9100$. Hope this info helps. 😉
Anyway mind connecting each other via email? So we can share more info together, cheers!

Salary for F/O
Basic 22500 QAR
Flight pay 104 Qar/Block Hour
Housing 13000 Qar
Expect average 100 block hours /month. Months without leave are +-130h/month. With leave 30-90h depending on how much leave. Fatigue is unimaginable, some collegues have gotten heart problems due exhaustion.
You can fly easily more than 100 per month as Qatar Airways only has a limit on factorised hours (900/year), there is no limit on hours spend in the plane with more than 2 crew members. Some guys have flown nearly 2500 hours in the last 2 years excluding taxi, deadheading and simulator duties.
Expect to be put in company accommodation and fight your way out.
Roster is fixed at max 8 days off in Doha.
For those waiting for the recruitment, the HR team is a good indicator of how the airline works, don't look for logic or honesty.
Boeing fleet significantly short of F/O, captains are now flying as F/O regularly.
The airline started recruiting almost one year ago redundant employees, in that same time frame almost an equal amount of pilots have left the airline. One would be very careful joining an airline where pilots leave their job without a new job during the biggest aviation crisis!

Applied day 1. Did the Propel test last week. No answer and no interview yet. Status : invited to PSA.
I thought it would take 3 or 4 days to have a date for the online interview.

Thanks for the info. I guess you Can not make more than 900hrs/year making IT around roughly 8500USD+ housing + other bonuses. Not bad. Anyways i would be going with my wife and son so i wonder the conditions for OWN housing allowance. Heared rumours the conditions changed a lot so as not to get screwed....

HAHAH so funny.
Bad guess. Qatar Airways make their own FTLs, they OWN the QCAA. They do whatever the f*ck to get what they need from you (blood and sweat). >1180 hours per year plus 200 hours of (unpaid) deadheading (also in economy) are REAL horrors. In your logbook it shows only around 700 hours due to their hour factorisation. Sleeping in the bunk doesn't count towards any block time.
READ before you apply (aka sell your soul). Otherwise you just deserve to bend over like one of their goats.

Heared bunk time is again payed wages were leta say restored to precovid ammount. I read a lot of posts here on pprune on QR cuz i dont want to be surprised if i get there and Also fatique of the T7 pilots. Thats why they are hiring right now. And about the owning of QCAA. You Can only plan pilots to the amount they are able to fly with a margin of safety. So i guess once they hire enough things will get better. And honestly. People go there for the money only... it's only the ammount you are willing to sell your soul - and this is in every single Job not just aviation 😃
Safety limits were exceeded long before covid started when they introduced new FTL making +100h/month legal, these rules have been there longtime.

I would be highly reluctant to bring your wife and son to Qatar. They will be stuck in the desert, you will be flying and see them 8 days a month. The day before your off day you'll likely have done a 17h night duty so you'll be tired and need a day to recover. Basically most pilots have send their families back home since they don't see eachother anymore, unfortunately with only one 4 days off block commuting isn't possible either. My kid asked my wife recently were daddy lives now...I was on another 11 day trip out of Qatar. Best of luck, many of the pilots with families will be leaving Qatar Airways by summer for good.

These are the posts I come here for to keep my head straight, who gives a damn what the pay is, you'll never lie on your deathbed saying to yourself ' I wish I'd spent more time with my money...'. I hope you get out and get to spend more time with your family soon.

Totally agree with mischo1990 . So far I have only seen negative comments about the airline, no one is talking about the good side of the company, it might be real since so many people here are talking the same thing. But yeaa, like what mischo1990 said, people just go there for money.
