Very true. I don't believe the story of failure rates is actually true.

i have heard a long list why a turbo prop pilot cannot fly a jet - all of it was just big bs
most of these arguments are coming from people who where lucky enough not start on it and still confident in saying that flying a modern TP is way more challenging, especially when the **** hits the fan than any modern jet on this planet

true they did not take them
may be it was a big mistake - or the rules have made by an arrogant lucky guy who did not have a clue what turbo prop flying means
I have seen more struggle from jet guys coming to TP then vise versa for a number of reasons

I'll admit I've never flown turbo props, but I most definitely didn't hop into the R/H seat of a jet at the beginning of my flying career.
I along with everyone here started off in a single engine prop and transitioned through to jets. If we can successfully transition from a seneca to a 737, what's the big deal with people from turboprops

Funnily enough I never had any widebody or longhaul experience until I did either

TP pilots did just fine . Failure rates did not increase due to TP pilots .

Any news on pay cuts in May? Isn’t that when they normally adjust the contract?

Wasn’t doing any slapping bud.... you missed the jist of my post. Which is long haul heavy flying is not the be all end all, and yes everyone at EK deserves so much more. Do you not agree?! I was trying to give those on here speaking dismissively about flying for a (God Forbid) LCC a little dose of reality...... and as far as 17 days off being a dream, it was actually fairly typical when I joined EK! Again perspective!

Im saying EK drivers deserve AT LEAST as much with all you have to put up with! Also adding perspective for the benefit of those who consider flying for an LCC beneath them, which some quite recently posted on here which I did not consider very classy 🙄 So stop your offended pearl clutching!

i agree to the point where all pilots who constantly deliver in sim checks deserve a fair chance to widen the horizon and should be able to proof the can - rather than getting look at as a incapable pilot because he startet as TP pilot
I also agree that every pilot not only EK but ME3 deserve way more in better and fair treatment as they do - being fair and respectful doesn’t cost much

I am seriously happy for everyone who has managed to keep a job especially now because I don’t wish anyone to be in my shoes right now

This thread is full of guys who left years ago and still think they have the right to come on here and preach to us on how they left emirates and are far better off for it.
They don’t seem to understand we are in a global pandemic and guys were made redundant. By email. They did not choose it.

They could have taken 1% pay cut and given it to the guys on unpaid leave.
How do they expect you to live in Dubai without any money?
Boeing guys on full pay while 380 guys got nothing.
How’s that right?
Even some of the guys who’s were made redundant got hardship pay.

This thread has served it’s sad purpose and become a dinosaur; barely recognisable from the awful tidings it brought. This serves as notice that the intention is to close this thread, to hopefully have a new thread where we see the resurgence and rebuilding of the company & careers.

Nimrodjoe......completely incorrect in your statement. Hardship pay was not given freely to any redundant pilot. It was given to those that could not repatriate to their home countries once made redundant. It equated to 25% of basic salary.
