Everyone's allowed to act 'dumb' every now and again, but can you please give it a rest for a while and stop abusing the privilege?

boeingdream787,
As a guy sitting in the LHS and your experience level, you should have done your homework first. That is searching this forum. Then you would have discovered that EK is not hiring DECs any more. There are some guys (mainly on the Bus) waiting for 5 years to start their command course. And looking at the latest seniority update I don't see any DECs joining last couple of months.
Personally I don't see EK changing their minds as there are hundreds of FOs ready to move to the LHS, but when they would do expect to see many outraged threads to appear on this forum.
My advise : Try (again?) as FO or another operator in the region.

Since no one has posted here for a while so I thought I might write something. Gulf Air just had a pay rise. EY pays more than EK on paper. So that means that EK is now the lowest paying job out of the three. So does anyone reckon that EK might have to up the pay to get the bodies they want???? And that is alot of bodies from what I heard.

I don't understand why you are giving wrong information to people. There is no such scenario.

The sim evaluation is very strait forward:

Take off from Rwy 12L - visual circuit to the right, you can do it up to 2500 ft ASL if you want. No AP no FD no AT No map mode on your ND. Abeam of the threshold 12L go out for 45 sec - base - configure - land.

Take off Rwy 12L again this time engine failure at V1, No AP, but you will have the AT. do your things, clean up, ATC, ECAM, CHECKLIST, FORDEC, BRIEF, go back

Once you decide to go back they will inform you that Radar is US and you need to track to Sharjah SHJ VOR and then track 295 out bound and call established, (make sure you do that once on 295 out and not 115 inbound) Radar vector back for ILS 12L, down to the min, no runway, go around - once you put the power to it and start going around that will end the evaluation.

What they tell you is what will happen, no surprises.

If you have airbus time you will get A330
If you have Boeing time you will get B777
If you have none of the above you will get the B777 cause comes with a yoke that you are more familiar with.

Keep that in mind that your sim type will be based on availability of the simulators as well.

and that's it.

The sim is exactly what Bustie said. Just one addition. On the single eng. AP can be use once the aircraft is clean. Hence making all the tracking to shj easier...

A mate of mine had neither Boeing nor Airbus and got hired onto the 330, and a guy on the recruitment dvd says he flew airbuses and got assigned to the boeing fleet (or was it the other way around?). Either way, I guess it just depends which fleet needs more FOs.....nothing is set in stone.

Regards,

OW

PS. Good news on the "short of our min. hours requirement" policy change for applications.

LOL,

It is funny now that I read it from that angle. Sorry to miss your humour.

Emirates Interview

It's three days of pure excitement!! But if you want to get the best picture, download the Emirates Interview Guide ebook. Some items (such as the English proficiency test) are different, but it definitely gives you the best insight. Good Luck.

Emirates Pilot Interview Result

I attended the interview 2 weeks ago and to date I have not heard anything from EK.

Can somebody shed some light on how long, on average, it takes to get to know the result?

Thanks

Boeing

No worries. That can take up to 5-6 weeks. But if you hear from your referees that they have been contacted, that is a go.
