The computer base exams (4) must be done in one hour, some 12, 26 etc..
then they call montreal and you talk on the phone, repeating some sentences, answer questions, put sentence together....and last talk about the subject that they tell you in 20 seconds,
that's all
not hard but not easy aswell, sounded more like american english to me.

So shocking is the rumour, it was almost worthy of a separate thread!
Can anyone from Pilot recruitment confirm or deny the latest that all sim assessments will now be conducted with the use of the autopilot. The latest candidates to apply were so bad, only 1 or 2 passed the sim recently. Hence the new policy to help recruit the 25-30 we now need every month.
How many holes can a piece of cheese take before it falls apart?

It is sad to say, but this airline has become a bag of rats lately.
Most of the world large airlines, took thirty to forty years to become the size they are now; some of them have even outgrown themselves and have gone out of business. EK wants to do all that in less then twenty-five years.
The cost is pressure on all departments, causing standards to go down in all aspects.
Autopilot usage for sim assessment? You've gotta be kidding

Travel information
Guys,
I have my interview on August 12th. I have already recieved my hotel information but no airline information. I was wondering how far in advance they send this information to perspective pilots. I have sent 2 emails and got a reply that it will be coming soon. I was going to bring my wife; however, ticket prices are outragous for lest than 2 weeks notice. Can anyone give me some info on when I might get my airline information???
Thanks

Get used to it! This is how EVERYTHING is done in Emirates...you are left in the dark, wondering what is going on, and NO ONE will give you a clue...you will have to figure everything out for yourself, from the "training", to the admin details. It's a "DIY" airline, mostly running on word of mouth from those who are already there. Frankly, I'm amazed they even troubled themselves to say that anything was coming at all! Try sending another 40 emails, maybe you'll hear something. Or maybe not.
Good luck!

I have to say my experience with Emirates was totally opposite of what you are describing. I was invited for an interview; a very nice and detailed e-mail explaining the process, followed by a ticket, (one day later), Marhaba greeting upon arrival, transport, hotel arrangement and the whole interview process was nothing but very well organized procedure.
They sure give a true meaning to the word professionalism.

I concurr with CI100.
Emirates is doing a loadfull of interviews and recruiting, and in my case it worked very well. One minor hiccup with the tickets because of a typo in the email that was quickly resolved inquiring about them. Got the confirmation right away.
The hospitality received and Marhaba were very appreciated.

Ha, now we have a real positive input frm CI100. All wannabes please take note of this. The prophets of doom and gloom seek to promote an atmosphere of fear and uncertainty, selfishly hoping to keep all the good things for themselves. They wish to erect a fortress like what we have in C, KAX, RBA to mention a few whereby blokes of the ilk get to come based on their own network and contact. Unfortunately all this gloom can become a self-fulfilled prophecy if we have only the negatives hovering over this thread.
For all hopefuls, please come over to have a good look and feel for this place. Talk to sensible folks who will give both the positives and negatives and then take it from there. I have never seen so much selfish and mischievous attempts at scaring away aspiring applicants.

Does anyone know whether a statement of hours and types flown signed by previous Chief Pilots on company letterhead will suffice in lieu of getting the logbook stamped and signed?
