Lots being said about the low pay for the 1900 flying - i reckon that's pretty damn decent considering what's available elsewhere...

Apparantly in South Africa you can earn substantially more cash flying 1900's for company's involved in UN contract work...Dubai sounds like a lot more fun though!

I'm just curious whether you can get a start at Falcon with just a bare 1900 Rating and full ATPL with loads of piston hours.

Anyone who's worked and lived there, your thoughts please.

I'm keen!!!!!!

Falcoon Express

Yes they are still flying into Iraq using a wet leased AN 12.
They have taken a couple of F/O's in the last few months.
The requirements( as always) are 500 TT and 300 Multi and a Beech 1900 Rating.
The F27 is fully crewed.
Hope that helps.
Cheers FM.

Can anyone tell me of the conditions at Falcon and wether you would have a chance with 300 on type (1900) and 500 Turbine?

Do they pay for your accom etc?

And about how long for a command. I have a command endo, but I relise thats usless till i get more time on type.

It's nice you have the endorsement on the 1900 unfortunately only 50% of your right seat time counts towards an UAE ATPL and this will take you about three years. Accomadation is included in your salary which would be around 10.000 dhs a month as a fo on the 1900.

Cheapest appartments in Dubai are around 40.000 dhs a year.

Doesnt my Australian ATPL count over in UAE?

I have a full aussie ATPL?

If so, how long is it usually to a command?

Thanks

sorry didn't look at your profile. UAE regs are quite simple you need 1500 TT for your ATPL. PIC time counts as 100% SIC time counts as 50% towards that.

Last 2 yrs I've flown bout 60-95 hrs a month. If you have the hours to make the 1500 TT as I mentioned above you can convert your aussie ATPL to a UAE ATPL.

Do they still make you pay for type rating? Know a young guy that is keen to give it a go, but he has only 350 tt with around 100 multi.

be very carefull joining these bunch of clowns, bunch of Lebo's trying to run it at the top, will lie there arses off to your face. Have there own set of flight and duty regs that they make up as they go along, so be prepared to be screwed hard and dry.

Sky Jockey, sounds like you didn't have any fun...SHAME!

Falcon, great outfit to join and build up your hours. Loads of guys have done their time and moved on to bigger and better things.

Mizone, I suggest you do a search on this Forum because all the info you require is there.

Good Luck.

Thanks guys,

have searched through the forum an found some good info.
The only main problem is still trying to get a straight answer from them got told yes you meet all the requirments but they will not indicate anything more than that. If i am in dubai they said to pop in but makes a long flight from nz!!!
