integrated cadets in hold pool???
With so many cadets in the hold pool, never mind the ATP chaps, why is it that someone from the CTC modular program started with an airline in the UK rrecently?

Because it appears that a few Takeoff guys who made it into the ATP Pool have been prioritised over those who entered when ATP selection was open to external applicants.

Fair enough. But if you read my post again. Why didn't they put forward one of the Wings Cadets in the hold pool for this Airline start date seeing as they get priority over the ATP holdpool?
I'm not in either btw. |
As I was told, there were not enough eligible integrated cadets in the holdpool at the time, and the airline wanted ATPs just out of AQC.
This is generally the case, some airlines want fresh pilots, or Takeoff ATPs, even though CTC follows seniority on airline placement when they can. |
I bet that has made a few Integrated guys feel pretty sick!
Anyway. Not my problem. I just met the person by chance and was surprised that he got in when integrated guys are drowning in a pool. Good luck to him I say. You see, modular can work.:8 Roll up BB |

even though CTC follows seniority on airline placement when they can I also understand that they are doing quite well at this Take-Off program and want to attract more into that. What better sales line than "oh yes there are around 90 in the ATP pool now but when you finish there will be <10" & "eJ like the Take-Off guys as well as Wings Cadets". Nothing short of a complete farce and I sympathise with the guys/gals that are in the ATP pool and are simply going to be cast aside. Good luck to him I say. Some Wings cadets are not eligible for some airlines because they have either failed a previous interview with them or they do not have the required first attempt passes on ATPL theory or 1st series passes on CPL IR practical test.
CTC will always put the Wings cadets first and then the ATPs. On what 3Greens said. Could you please tell me what are the requirements of BA recruitment regarding the examination results of ATPL theoretical and CPL, IR practical? |

@contacttower118.2 remember that people in the wings hold pool who've passed Easyjet interviews but haven't yet started type ratings are still 'in the hold pool'. The most recent course to enter (end of Feb '14) have all been offered BA interviews to join the FPP. These were previously untagged cadets. Everyone in front of them has had interviews for Easy, some have been taken by another airline and some who failed the Easyjet interviews are still swimming, but most are just waiting for start dates. Wouldn't say that the integrated cadets were annoyed in the slightest! Time in the hold pool is the shortest it's been in a long while. Now also seems to be a good time to be in the ATP pool as over the next couple of courses there are not many untagged cadets coming through! Hopefully there will be some movement soon!
@landing lighter - of the course that were offered, as far as I know there were no requirements. People with second time CPL passes and people who failed ATPL exams. |

Where did you get all of this information?? Are u sure?? Each month there is around 20 coming news cadets in the Cadet Holdpool!! So I don't know if it's good to be ATP (I'm ATP :s ) |

Interesting points you make as this is not what I've heard in the slightest. I've been led to believe that it couldn't be a worse time for ATP's as they are going to get kicked out soon to make way for the CTC Take Off cadets and so CTC can open the ATP gates again. |
@John Dexter - The take off cadets will enter the ATP hold pool but I'm not sure that this means the ones currently in it will be forced out? From what I understand, the summary posted by bloated stomach is accurate. From the current state of the industry, where there seems to be a lot of hiring at all airlines, I would say now is a good time to be in any holding pool, especially one with as many links as the CTC ATP.

Well all I can say is I wish them the very best of luck I really do, I think they are going to need an A380 load of it. From the industry experts I have contact with they say that although there is recruitment now it's just beginning and not that large, plus there are still loads of experienced guys. There won't be any sizeable demand for cadets until winter 2015. By this time the ATP pool will be purged of non-take off guys/gals and re-opened for summer 2015 filling nicely ready for that winter. What CTC spin cadets should be taken lightly. The only time CTC will be 100% honest will be when the commercial situation matches the hiring situation as make no mistake they are a business. They care not about seniority or fairness. Just think about it another 50 ATP's is close on £500,000. Also there is the possibility that eJ recruitment for 2015 may be a bit lean for cadets (and that it backed up by some people very much in the know on this website) One final point to note is that a lot of CTC partner airlines don't accept ATP's too and of the ones that do they typically have higher requirements than the normal cadets. |

Someone knows if in the "history" of the ATP scheme there are ATP who get an airline job???

At the moment, the only airlines who are not considering ATP pilots are British Airways, Monarch Airlines and Qatar Airways.
Easyjet were also not considering ATP pilots since 2011 due to training issues but this has now changed and will now consider them as per CTC holding pool management. Ryanair, flydubai and Jetstar will probably be the next airlines to take on ATP pilots in the very near future. |
