BA will take from CTC but they are not taking any current cadets as far as I'm aware. They are taking 30 per year from CTC (and the same from OAA and FTE) and all of them will be 'tagged' by BA from day 1 following a rigorous selection process. Anyone who has already commenced training will not be eligible for BA, only those that BA take under the FPP. So BA taking cadets helps no-one that has already started training.

This is not correct. As it will take a couple of years for the FPP cadets to go through the system BA will take on current Wings Cadets in the period in between. Current estimates are that this will not need to take place until mid 2012.

G-ADAM, i'm with the large orange one, easy!

Thanks for the correction Plinky :ok:

CTC continues to make dates available for selection for ATP.
Any news on the holding pool?
Are they calling?

Tekor Bali 12th Sep 2011 10:26

Thank you M.
Exactly, I'm starting to doubt the possibility of making this investment of money.
Although they are clear in saying that currently there are no companies who need pilots over cadet scheme...
A lot of money, only for a number in the list... And then? mmm

turbine100 16th Sep 2011 06:45

I did the another the application last year and never booked the assessment for ATP. Not seen many people on this thread mention getting a job through ATP, if at all in recent years and thought it would be a waste of money to pay to do tests and 7K for another MCC / JOC.

Not sure if they do the same selection tests as the cadet. If they do, its almost insulting if someone has all the licenses, has been flying public transport in GA or very experienced commercial flying instructors.

CTC Forescast

Reading previous posts it's clear there hasn't been movement in the ATP pool recently (even in the Cadet one).
Despite this, I think perspectives for next year are quite optimistic since BA is to recruit 800 pilots (400 cadets + 400 experienced)

As stated before, those who belong to FPP of BA will be trained by CTC,FTE & OAA (30 per year and school aproximately) so regarding CTC Cadet pool, some of the cadets won't be able to be elegible by EZY as i suppose CTC won't increase its annual production of cadets.

If we add to this the exodus of experienced EZY's F/Os to BA, it could be a great opportunity for ATP's.

It's only my opinion but i think somebody could know something else.

I been following this thread with interest as im in the ATP 'Database' I work for ezy, not as an FO as of yet but CC. But having spoken to someone important in EZy think there maybe every reason to be positive for the winter. What you have to remeber is that you have to find something thats going to seperate you from every other 250hr frozen ATPL. Yesy Emirates...BA and co will be sucking some of the FO's out, not to mention the amount of command upgrades currently going on in Easyjet. Fingers crossed but thats aviation for you!!

PLINKY DEL MAYO 4th Oct 2011 14:43

With the winter hiring season underway and rumours of Easyjet requiring another 300 FO’s for 2012 coming from both CTC and Parc, does anyone have any information that would indicate CTC need to dip into the ATP pool this winter?

I would have thought at this stage CTC will know how many cadets they are required type rate for next year and if the wings cadet output can meet the demand.

Thoughts anyone???

CTC

@PLINKY DEL MAYO,

As far as I know it has recently published by EZY the delivery of 35 Airbus in 2011-2012. Moreover, it's planned to reach a fleet of 220 A/C by 2013 so there should be new contracts but the exact figure is difficult to predict.

There will be F/Os who will move to BA and Middle East so 2012 seems to be a good year.

If this cadet on the wings thread is to be believed, now might be a good time to take a punt on the ATP scheme.

We've also been told that the hold pool is due to be empty by the end of year and the increasing likelihood of a very short wait, if any, after finishing the AQC.

pipersam 10th Oct 2011 18:07

It was me who posted that, and indeed that's exactly what we were told, but obviously it is only a prediction based on what CTC think may happen over the short term.

There is however a link posted on CTC's Facebook page today stating that CTC will continue feeding 8 cadets into Easyjet each month from now on:

http://www.ctcaviation.com/pdfs/pres...s_Open_Day.pdf

Also something else previously mentioned about BA and CTC: current cadets are able to transfer onto the BA FPP scheme providing that they pass the selection and put more money into the 'bond' as it is more than the standard wings bond. (Again this is only info that I have heard from CTC).

PLINKY DEL MAYO 10th Oct 2011 20:20

Thanks for the info pipersam :ok:

ReallyAnnoyed 14th Oct 2011 18:49

The easy fleet is 204 aircraft at the moment which it will be winter 2012 again with a spike for the summer 2012. That is the plan as of less than a month ago: http://corporate.easyjet.com/~/media/Files/E/easyJet/pdf/investors/presentations/Pre-close-statement-presentation11.pdf??

Movement in ATP pool?

Hi guys,

It has been recently published that Cadet pool is almost empty. Does somebody know if there has been any movement in ATP pool?

As it was said by EZY and CTC, they are training 8 cadets per month in A320 and some cadets are believed to go to BA and Qatar.

flyride 25th Oct 2011 09:14

I recently heard that they won't have any movement in the near future for the ATPs.
I also heard that CTC haven't got the final numbers for the winter season from EasyJet yet.

Even if there are 8 cadets taking a type rating each month, there are almost the same number of CTC Wings Cadets joining the pool every month.

I think we will keep swimming... :-(

flyride you've just contradicted your own rumour there. If CTC don't know how many cadets they are sending to Easyjet this winter, how can they possibly know what the pool numbers will go down to in the near future and if ATP cadets will be required?

flyride 25th Oct 2011 12:56

Hmmm, you got a point.

The thing is, from what I heard, they still are about 40 people in the pool, and even with a quite big requirement from EasyJet, their training capacities are almost the same as the number of new CTC wings cadets arriving in the pool every month..

So I confirm, no improvement in the near futur..

But as you all, I wish I am wrong, once I heard from an old ATP " with CTC expect the unexpected" I wish it could be true!!

albertoara29 25th Oct 2011 13:22

I think their training capacity is almost the same but not the requirements of cadets.

CTC has the well-know agreement with EZY but also some cadets will go to BA (within FPP but trained by CTC) and to QR so it would be difficult to meet EZY requirements with only cadets unless they increase their training capacity.

What do you think?

flyride 25th Oct 2011 13:39

I am not sure about what to think really, at CTC they like to keep things quite fuzzy , but what appears to me is that CTC train more and more CTC wings cadet, but their Type rating capacity hasn't improved, still 2 A320 Sim and 1 737 NG Sim ( that's already a lot of full flight Sim).

But let's say that every month they add 10 Wings cadets in the pool, and are capable of 12 type rating a month, it will take a long long time before they require even 1 CTC wings ATP. Last year has been a very very good year for ctc, maybe the best ever in term of requirement from EasyJet, and in the ATP pool, they were no movement at all.

Like every one is this ATP pool, my fingers are crossed, but sometimes I wonder if we re not wrong hoping that an offer will drop on the table...
