I think (or hope...) we non-UK residents will have the chance of being "helped" by BA in financial issues, even if we don't have a property in the UK.

Anyway, my father works in a bank here in Spain, and he told me that being accepted in such a "fantastic" program (I convinced him) might be enough in order to get a loan, even if you are 21. What he doubted is that I could myself get 80K. Perhaps 40-50K, unsecured loan, 2 first years without repayments. In case I wanted to get the whole amount, the only way is to get a secured loan (on my parent's house). This is in Spain, but I guess the situation will be more or less the same in other countries.

In case I have the opportunity of joining BA, I think I would a) 20K cash (my savings) b) 2 different loans (one about 40K, unsecured, under my own name), the other one about 40K and unsecured aswell, under my fathers' name. Two loans, but in case anything happens, my parents won't be homeless.

We non-UK residents remember this program is around 100K Euros...

If I remember correctly, BBVA (the loan provider) will allow you to secure a loan on either a UK or Spanish house (as they are based there).

Longevity of this thread

Routing round this site, I'm astonished to find a number of threads extant after several years, which got me thinking (yet again) about this thread; it's longevity in particular.

Bearing in mind that BAs FPP window will remain open until 2016, I don't think it too fanciful to expect this thread to follow suit and still be doing the rounds in five years time or so. However, if it is to continue, it must be topical and serve a purpose. For instance, many of the 'digests' alluded to, provide a vehicle for those involved in a particular process or who have experienced it first hand, to share their experiences with others who are considering or about to undergo that very process themselves.

Unfortunately, in this case, I suspect I'm correct in thinking that any similarly kind hearted individual wishing to share their experiences on here, will immediately be condemned by the spoil sports who, regrettably, also frequent this excellent forum, and reminded that to do so will be to their detriment.

Personally, I don't believe for one minute that those involved in running the programme (either BA or FTOs) will police this site - as has already been suggested - however, I'm in no doubt at all that if forced to act i.e. matters are brought to their attention, they would be obliged to deal with any transgression accordingly. And you can bet your bottom dollar some self-appointed prefect would

Which is why I don't blame those pioneer candidates for 'keeping shtum' and why I can't see any future for this thread - apart from the mundane: "Window's open again!" - " Is that three hundred words for a), b) and c) or for each?" - "I've a degree but can only speak Pigeon English..." - "I'm through: Daddy's arranged security for my loan against his (MPs) second home" - "Window's closing in ten seconds!" blah, blah, bl££dy blah!

Shame really.

Your naivety is amazing! The FTOs in particular are always checking this site. How else do they manage to organise posts rebutting many claims so quickly. PPRuNe is probably the main source of information of this type in the UK. Do you honestly believe they would simply ignore it?

I also got an invite for the assessment via FTE very pleased, however I feel like I've got no time to prepare or even get to Coventry/England on time :S. I live in Melbourne and my interview is on 14/9, 15/9 or 16/9. Booking a flight should be easy, but I worry about a 'certification of equivalance' of my academic results. I did the IB and I don't know if I can just show up with my IB results or if I need to get this 'certification of equivalance'? I've contacted UKNARIC and they said its gonna take 10-15 working days, time that I dont have. I therefore ask, if anyone can give me any advise?

Btw: are there any bus/train routes from London Heathrow to Coventry?

For those who have already received an invitation, what date did you submit your application?

Thanks

Has anyone who applied to CTC or OAA heard back either way yet?

It appears that the flying schools are doing the initial screening rather than BA themselves (or both in succession).

Yes, it will be interesting to see. I suppose the longer we wait now the better as it will mean the dates will have to be later. Although, if FTE have already started sending out emails then the others won't be long now.

Hello everyone! I'm new at this forum and I've also applied to FTE but I didn't received an email from them yet. Maybe because I've only submitted my application on last week. I was wondering if someone could send me the sample tests (Maths,Physics, etc) that FTE used to send to applicants prior their assessment date.Since they're notifying in such short notice, one needs to start practicing right away.
Thanks in advance

The schools do initial screening. BA will not look until you pass the FTO assessments. Pretty much everyone who meets minimum requirements should expect an invite to their respective FTOs.

I'm invited to FTE selection as well. I've got the same problem about statement of comparability for my bachelor degree. And I won't pay 160 pounds to have it within 24 hours, because I am sure there will be delivery issues between our two countries, as usual...

Anyway I got to plan my trip to Coventry and I can land only in Luton, Bristol or Liverpool so if anybody's living in one of these cities maybe we can share the onward trip, that would be nice.

Best of luck to every applicant.

BA place a big emphasis on the answers to the essay type questions and the additional multi-choice questions. The DEP application process bins lots of people at the first stage because their answers to the questions didn't meet the criteria, many of whom far exceeded minimum qualifications. I would imagine the FPP will be the same.
