I'm confused.

The recent ad said apply in writing........... I assumed this to mean send CV and cover letter. Where is this application form you guys are talking about ?

PDF won't print properly

I'm just getting to that tearing my hair out stage trying to get this poxy PDF to print a completed form rather than blank.

Anyone having the same troubles? I'm using Adobe 7.0.8 - just checked for updates and it seems current, running Win 2000 SP4 to a deskjet 840.

If I get no joy I'll just have to print a blank form and fill it in by hand, (but I don't think that'll do me any favours when it comes down to the chances of getting an interview)

I sent a nice letter and CV up to John Bell in April and he e-mailed me back an application form which you fill in on the PC and print off to send by post.

I did not hear anything so I did a fresh application in September. Had interview last week and got a sim ride in December.

I am low hours near to the 500 mark and modular, aged very late 30's.

Very relaxing interview. You will need to do your homework.

There is someone on pprune who does interview and CV preparation by the name of, let me try and think, that's it Pete, who gave me guidance on what I should be brushing up on. It worked very well, hence passed the interview and did not find it a problem at all.

I think if you do a search on pprune and come across a guy who is a Pilot by the name of Pete, try and get on one of his one day courses as it may be the difference between passing or failing an interview.

If anyone needs his contact details, PM me.

Good luck everybody and never give up. My mate is 44 years old doing air
taxy work and also passed the interview last week.

I take my hat off to you BMI Regional.

Hi All

EGCC : well done on passing interview and best of luck for the sim check !

Could you tell me if you done a whole new application or did you just send an updated CV.

I updated my formal application just by sending in an updated CV ( as they tell you to do ), but not yet heard anything, how long did it take for them to contact you ??

Any advice on the interview Questions they ask ???

Thanks in advance

I sent a whole new application with a better photo on it plus a letter saying that it was an updated application.

The old application may of been at the bottom of a pile somewhere. I advise you to fill in another application with a nice photo, shirt and tie sort of picky and resend ASAP.

Send by recorded delivery to make sure it gets there.

Re sent application about the beginning of September and got a call about 2 weeks later.

Also a nice letter from my IR instructor and another CV. All of which were printed out on nice expensive paper.

Regards the other question, PM me if you wish.

Would it be considered bad form to fill in and send the application without having been invited to do so ? I notice also that the form given on above link is a little out of date. I've sent 2 CV's in last few weeks but heard nothing at all back (900 TT 300 muti).

Scratch ,yes. There are 5 crews for 1 aircraft based at LHR. You'll be in a long queue as a F/O to get to a LHR basing, but apparenetly for captains there are spaces.

If you're a new F/O you should expect to be based in ABZ for a while before getting to your desired base!

LHR basing is not a permanent fixture, crews are there on secondment.

Good luck...

Had the call myself today. I wonder if they are recruiting for an immediate requirement, or if it's for a holding pool as per normal? I'm also surprised that they are interviewing so many people, it's not like they are expanding in a big way. After all the stuff that is going on with the BACON/Flybe merger I'd have guessed that they'd have plenty of ERJ TR'd pilots applying to them. Maybe a lot of guys are heading to Easy and Jet2? Still, BMI Regional is probably one of the most desirable regionals at the moment.

Total time

Can those who received a phone call today inviting them to an interview disclose their Total Time. Anyone under 500 hours TT getting interviews? If so how many hours TT do you have?

I'm suprised this thread isn't more active, perhaps bmi found more experienced guys than it anticipated.

I've tried to follow the corresponding thread and from what I can gather there are pages of concern over what might happen. I don't know anything about it, but I would be suprised if many would upsticks and relocate on that intangible basis. It would be interesting to know one way or t'other.

Hi, I had an interview with bmi regional last week and have been invited for a sim check in January. I've got the machester plate and info they provide, but was wondering how hard the check is. I've no recent sim experience, will this be taken into account or will I be expected to fly like someone who is current.
Any info would be appreciated, thanks
Good luck to everyone else
