well if the budgies airborne again..... does that mean were gonna get paid all or some of wat we're owed by the company??
i for one could use it.
all gone very quiet from balpa and kpmg, have they gone the same way as farepack??

OPSQUEEN 12th November 2006 12:39

KPMG will probably disappear very quietly into the background now and hope everyone and everything will go away and not bother them anymore. They must be saying to themselves "whose bright idea was it anyway to take on Emerald?"

EI-CGO 13th November 2006 12:18

I'm not sure what many people expect of KPMG, they are simply sorting the mess that a certain Accountable Manager created in the first place.

Maybe a timely reminder that if he had bothered to adhere to the basic principles of holding an AOC then this mess would never of had happened, remember the banks etc were happy with the JEM balance sheet just before the AM decided that he was immune to any non conformaties that the authority discovered.

I say timely because these very same people are starting up again, although it beggars belief that they are allowed to do so with so much money still being owed.

I almost fell over the other day when I heard that its being 'put about' that a 748 type rating course is being held in January, I urge anyone who doesnt know the full history of this very sorry mess to be very careful when handing over money.

Mucky Devil 14th November 2006 20:59

Confused.con

EI-CGO. Is this real fact. I am confused that the Aviation and Tax Authorities haven't any objection or power to invoke a blocking action until they have investigated what went on before. I am a little shaken that MOB might be allowed to run anything more than a bath.
If it does get going then there will be a queue of willing new recruits and who can blame them for wanting a start, but if they are going to be offering Type Ratings then 'let the buyer beware' as the lawyers say. I would take advice on ways of legally protecting the money until the Rating has been delivered.

lagerlout 18th November 2006 10:18

Last I heard theyr is still such a shortage of freight capacity that anything (and anyone) that can fly can get work. Hence The useless OM getting another go.:ugh: :oh: . As for KPMG they'll continue to charge out at £200 an hour while we struggle to earn £200 a day . They get paid first and we have to hope theyre's a bit left over for us at the end?

exloadie 25th November 2006 09:45

think "MN" departed Thurs dinner time

shedhead 1st December 2006 14:33

360s at coventry

It seems that some of the sheds are to be broken up as spares and scrap work starts on wednesday

Say again s l o w l y 1st December 2006 18:07

That's really sad. They may have been ugly, but they were fun to fly. R.I.P. (Rust In Pieces.)

GBALU53 1st December 2006 20:19

Five Sheds at Coventry 16th last month two of them looked destened for the brakers yards, two others just seem to have an engine missing and the fifth was locked away in a hangar.

The one locked away could be the one that is worth it weight to get back in the air as I would think it might be one of the one with the latest mods??

Nothing around at the moment that can replace the shed long live a shorts model??

Germstone 2nd December 2006 09:42

seems the 3 sheds at blackpool are being readied for ferry to CVT?.

fourth will prob be broken up at BLK

cmf146 2nd December 2006 17:26

The Sheds

With regard to the Sheds only two have current C's of A. The rest will need to be issued with new certificates after maintenance. All have now been registered to BAC and of the four at Blackpool the only operational one,
G-ROND, flew out to Edinburgh on 28th Nov. The only other serviceable machine G-SSWC from Southend is in service as G-TMRA.

We will await developments on the remainder !

Good luck.

Anotherflapoperator 2nd December 2006 19:39

The ATP at Ronaldsway flew out this week too. God only knows what state this poor beast was in, after spending so many months sat at the southern next to the sea... when I flew the ATP, they only had to spend a night in the wind and rain to start acting up and falling over at the first sign of being asked to go flying.

I would be amazed if that thing woke up and had all it's vital systems working, autofeather amongst them....We all saw it go, and most of us had our hearts pumping as we wished the crew good luck in getting airbourne.

It's been nearly six years since I last flew one, G-MANU, formally G-BUUP and star of the Liverpool slide..... I don't miss the aircraft, but I do miss the good times at Manx though!

Best of luck to all of you looking for work and a safe future.....shame there's so many BACONers also looking for all those jobs....:ugh:

Expressflight 4th December 2006 12:44

I see that JetPhotos.net have a shot of G-JEMX in full Emerald colours at SEN, apparently taken over the weekend. Reference to the CAA Register shows this aircraft to be ex-G-SSWX, having been registered to BAC Leasing on 28.11.06.
It was reportedly photographed awaiting a freight load, so who operates this aircraft currently?

lagerlout 5th December 2006 11:00

one for old times sake!?

A few of us are getting together on Sat the 16th DEC for a couple of drinks any old timers feel free to enjoy.

Usual faces.... guaranteed disgraces!

Come join the fun!

non iron 5th December 2006 23:48

Shame indeed.

BA running riot again, buying up useful cost effective companies, wrecking the whole infrastructure `cos there might be a quid in it, and then taking a dump on seniority, pensions, bases.
Surprise ?
The only surprise to me is that we let a preditory public company call themselves " British Airways "
They should be stripped of that title.
"P**key Airways" would do.
Scotland in the sixties ? that was the start.

Phileas Fogg 7th December 2006 23:32

non iron,
Have you been taking an illegal substance?

bank_and_yank 10th December 2006 09:30

No light at the end.

I got a huge mailing from KPMG yesterday confirming that there will be no money for ex-employees. I'm afraid that having skimmed it for relevant info I chucked it in the bin in disgust.

The assets have mainly been sold and the debtors have been paid in order of priority, but one of the banks is still owed more than the scraps that are left.

I'm disgusted that the ex-employees have even lost the pension contributions that were deducted from wages, but not actually paid by Emerald for several months. Apparently that is not illegal; well it bl@@dy well should be. We don't even know yet how many pension payments we have lost. I'll bet AJ's and MOB's were paid up to date.

bermudatriangle 10th December 2006 11:13

KPMG have treated employees with contempt since may.It comes as no surprise that the employees get sweet FA yet the institutions receive a payout. As stated, insolvency proceedings can appear very unfair and illegal, but unfortunately this is the way of things in the UK.No different than conditions in a victorian workhouse. And by the way,not an ounce of assistance from BALPA....another wasted subscription I fear.

Trill_Flyer 10th December 2006 19:21

Notice from Administrator!

Well I have yet to hear from them although i'm aware letter's have gone out.

Who are flying the aircrarft out, ex-emerald crew's I hope!

The one at coventry have gone? But where I wonder, Blackpool. Who flew these out.

Still a load of sheds there probably Rusting In Peace!

Germstone 10th December 2006 21:40

trill

the whole budgie and atp fleet is now at blackpool

the sheds have departed to new owners

BYALPHAINDIA 11th December 2006 16:29

I Bet KPMG have made a 'Christmas Bonus' out of all this work - Paper Shuffling!!

It doesnt surprise me that the old employees got FA?

Regards.:ugh:

RoyHudd 11th December 2006 18:14

No surprises there.

Standard BALPA...speaking as one who had no help whatsoever with 2 redundancies...they are not to be trusted.

And as for the CAA ......authorising the questionable replacement operation of ancient Russian-built freighters flown by overseas crews unfamiliar with UK airspace, standing in for Emerald Airways on safety grounds......well what can one think? They are either corrupt or incompetent, or both, IMHO. (The Authority, that is) :(

No-one likes a smart-ass!

PF,

Thank you so much.

The AN-24 was manufactured in big numbers in each of : Irkutsk, Ulan Ude, and Kiev, all factories within the former U.S.S.R. Please demonstrate your undoubted knowledge and enlighten us as to which of the above are in Russia. (clue...Kiev is in the Ukraine). Now the AN-26, that was a Ukraine-assembled product, for what its worth. But hey......

I was actually having a pop at the C.A.A., chap. But thanks for offering yourself as an additional target. (Not being overly serious..no offence given here).;)

would have been nice if a few more could have made it but it is xmas!

some seriously drunken fun.... or was that just me...... well got to live up to my name.!!!

EI-CGO 18th December 2006 20:47

KPMG may have brought no festive cheer to ex JEM'ers but a snippet that may bring some cheer is that certain individuals will NOT be starting up their new little operation with the 748.

No AOC application has been made, and new guidlines on AOC suspensions mean that its unlikely the old AOC could be brought out of suspension either, funnilly enough none of the 'old' aircraft are earmarked for this project either.

Guess its just back to the building site or trying to sell that Lexus with one (lady) owner, honest guv !!

Quote from Aviation Industry News - Fleeet Finance:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Strong stock market debut for PTB
Aircraft engine seller and repairer PTB Group has raised raising $5m in an initial public offering on the Australian Stock Exchange. The Brisbane-based company, which last week delisted from the Newcastle Stock Exchange, listed at A$2.35, representing a 35 cent, or 17.5 per cent, premium to its offer price of A$2.00. Formed in 2001, PTB operates a specialist turbine engine repair and trading business in relation to Pratt & Whitney PT6A and Honeywell PTE331 turbine engines. In September it acquired IAP Group, an independent stockist of commercial and military aircraft spare parts in the Asia-Pacific region. In October it acquired the aircraft and associated parts of UK-based Emerald Airways and Emerald Airways Engineering for about $16m.

So KPMG got some money for the assets!

Movement Of Fleet.

For those who are still interested, the Blackpool Spoters website actual recorded the day and time of arrivals and departures of the ATP's, HS748's and the Shed's going to Coventry.

For those who can't be bothered to look. The Aircarft from Coventry arrived on 23rd November at 10:46 & 13:24 (G-ORCP & G-BGMN). The same Crew? By Air Taxi if it was.

ATP's arrived 21st November at 14:18 (G-JEMC) 17th November at 13:21 (G-JEMA).One from the IOM & other from LPL.

G-AYIM arrived at 11:34 on 24th November from LPL.

Two sheds left for Coventry with the Callsign Rapex100P G-OBHD on 6th December and G-ROND 15:07. Different days I think. Have a look.

RIP.

Belated happy Christmas but have a more fruitful New Year.

All the best

HAWKER SID 31st December 2006 02:05
