Menzies only lost the contract at EMA because of all the finance issues at MAN to do with damaged aircrafts etc, to keep the contract menzies told TCX that they will terminate all contracts and basically TCX pulled the plug and terminated the contract at EMA aswell. SO really the blame goes down to the baggage handlers at MAN

123jobsearcher123 that is the biggest load of bulls**t I have ever heard....

Exactly how many A/C have TCX had damaged by their handling agents in Man?? I will answer that for you.......NONE!!!!!!!

"to keep the contract menzies told TCX that they will terminate all contracts and basically TCX pulled the plug and terminated the contract at EMA aswell" Can you say that in English please, because you make no sense whatsoever!!!!!

The reason Menzies pulled the plug on TCX was purely a financial one, and as happens year in year out the contract went to the lowest bidder no matter what service they recieve!

They dmamaged no aircraft? Well what happened to the cargo doors twice in October? I believe the loaders jammed something in them on 2 seperate occassions? Correct me if i'm wrong. As for the excellent handling when the contract was first taken on they had only one or two dispatchers trained, i know they had the most amount of warning from manchester airport that any handling agent has had and I also know (as I have witnessed on MANY occassions) that the check-in/ground staff have terrible customer service skills and are completely unprofessional.

Jen Jen "Well what happened to the cargo doors twice in October?" what about them??? No reported A/C damage since Menzies took the contract on!!!!

As for only 1 or 2 trained dispatchers, the majority of Menzies 20+ dispatchers came from MYT, so again you are wrong!

All check in staff Tupe'd from MYT and SAS so they must have always been crap!

menzies LOST the TCX contract because the airport have threatened to revoke their operating license at Manchester, this is due to organisation issues....FACT!!

that's straight from the thomas cook station manager today!

end of story!

Thank you G-STAW.

I knew this was the case. Menzies have been a shambles ever since they took over handling of TCX. I know for a fact that they damaged a cargo door as my mum came off the flight and was waiting for her bag for nearly 3 hours so I called menzies op's and they told me what had happened.
And as for all the dispatchers coming across from MYT, I know this but I also know that there was hardly anyone bridge trained as I know people working as a dispatcher for menzies and they told me.

As far as i am aware, tcx have been happy and menzies did bring the contract to an end. A price was agreed for a certain number of flights between the 2 companys, this number of flights was exceeded meaning tcx owed menzies cash to the tune of £1 million +. TCX said they owed nowt therefore menzies told them where to go. Hence no 90 day notice and why servisair are taking contract over so soon. Under no circumstances is this staff related, the menzies guys and girls have done a cracking job with the tcx contract which is why a good number of them are being TUPE'D over to servisair to carry working on the TCX contract. Menzies will continue to operate at MAN, and without the headache of a greedy airline hanging over their shoulders.

IF this in fact happened there are a number of reasons that it could have been other than incompetence on the part of the dispatcher operating the airbridge. Bridges at MAN (especially those on B and C Piers) are notoriously shoddy to begin with so before you go throwing stones, get your facts straight.

NO one drove into the aircraft it's just that the HEAD SET guy didn't see that there was still a airbridge still on the aircraft and HE gave the pushback driver the signal to push which did damage to the front door i should know i was there
