Was kinda' hoping that Aviance would win the Jet2 contract !! oh well, still just BA (what's left of it ) and SN Brussels for us.
With Menzies losing Jet2 and TommyCook, will they maintain operations at MAN ????

menzies are being booted off the airport for some reason, hence contracts going elsewhere.

G-STAW

you are a very diss-respectful person.

No contract will be thrown away just re-negotiated if possible, every customer is precious and should not be under-rated or diss-respected.

You also underestimate my knowledge of MAN operations and I am sure that BM does not or would not wish you to spout your rantings on this forum.

Runcorn is not that far away.

"can you tell im going to work or swissport.ha"

I may not enter into debate very often G-STAW but I do and have always been an avid reader of all post on this forum. Maybe you can you can remember the above highlighted statement that you used in one of your rants.

Snoop

To put the record straight, Menzies are not getting "booted off the Airport" as G-STAW suggests.

Menzies have terminated the contract with Thomas Cook and Servisair will commence handling on 1st Feb 2009, and they will still maintain operations at Manchester, handling Easyjet, Tui, BmiBaby, AA, Air southwest, Aer Lingus and Jet2.com, which has not gone to Aviance or Flight Support!

Menzies WILL remain in operation at Manchester as we still have several good contracts here. Losing TCX will ultimately lead to redundancies but we will not be "booted off the airport".

EasyJet will be huge at Manchester next summer and will comfortably give us enough to do and Jet2 have not gone elsewhere thank you very much.

Not that comfusing really!! but I will say it again ....Menzies have told Thomas Cook that they will not be handling them after 31st Jan 2009. therefore Menzies did not lose the contract!!!!!!!!

Aparently it was a non profitable contract.

G-STAW and where do you get your info from? too many GL's????? have a look at the OTP and that will prove you totally wrong...

All you need to do is ask TCX and then you will buy it my friend!

Yes Menzies struggled in the first couple of months just like Servisair will, however the last four months stats are extremely good, last months OTP 99.2%.....need I say more?

Not bad for handling an Airline that has a large amount of its flights running off schedule.

Good luck with the 753's on a ski-ski turn in an hour with 400 bags off , 400 bags on

ringwaysgoneforever, it was confusing when the original poster created a thread stating that menzies had lost the contract lol..

99.2% OTP is an amazingly good rate, good work by all the staff there

Devil

Merlin xxx,

Empty vessels make too much noise.

Just like i thought, you posted buckets full of crap, ONCE MORE!

Your posts are a reflection of your background and your personality,Its high time you show us some of your so called (44 years) experience (If you have any) by answering relevantly to questions and sharing professional views, rather than posting your smart a###, two pence remarks.
A 10000000 years of experience means nothing if you haven't any maturity to match your expertise.
Professionals don't take pleaure in boasting about what their worth, it just shows through their actions and WORDS.

Am sure you will have something silly to say in reply to this, so just save it!.... and talk to the hand.

As someone who has had his life completely turned around just 9 months ago after TCX effectively torpedoed SAS&Ringway at MAN I feel very sorry for those of you who will be looking for work in the current climate, but i'm afraid i will allow myself a little rye smile also.

Well let me make myself clear, whether it be summer 08 or winter 08 it makes no difference as for the last time i will say it was Menzies that pulled the plug not TCX!

If I were you I would review where you get your information from.

If it was indeed Menzies that pulled the plug it would prove how completely incompetent that company is at running their own business, go in a million 5 under the current contract holders and then start moaning that for some reason your not making money! Congrats on Servisair, who while often being a pain to work for at least they do what they say on the tin.

it got annouced to the staff today that servisair have won the TCX contract starting 1/02/09.

servisair have a TUPE agreement in place with menzies, meaning that servisair will transfer a number of mezies staff as a direct result of the TCX contract.

hectic times ahead!!

Why not??? There are a hell of a lot of good experienced guys at menzies and without the TUPE in place some of these guys would be down the road. Surely the servisair lads would be happier seeing these guys come in than dealin with the stress of 90 day temporary pass holders who aint got a clue how everythin operates out there. Would have thought this would be a good time for one and all to stick together. Merry Xmas.
