V OZ uniform

The thing is that you really have to be SLIM to wear it..Mostly you see it with pants too long dragging on the floor, too tight on certain bodytypes and what's the thing with the belt??I agree, it is a very dull unifform and hardly works on most people..V atlantic is a better one..

Uniform

I agree it doesn't suit the aircraft and basically looks like what it is, an afterthought. It's no where near the standard of other international carriers uniforms. And when you're flying to foreign countries, you do want to be keeping up with the Jones. It doesn't reflect well on your brand otherwise.

Has anyone heard what the loads are like? Are they full? Many staff travelling?

I would love to hear feedback from anyone who flys with V Australia.

Thanks.

Keeps the costs down when the uniform is the same as VB's. All you need to do is change the logo.
Don't hold you breath waiting for a new uniform. VB crew have been asking about a new one for 8 years.

paying for Drinks in economy?

Hi Guys,

What has the response been to the fact that economy pax pay for drinks on the flights? Originally when webiste was launched this was not the cas, the website has recently been changed and now states that 1 FOC drink served with main meal? Like to get some feed back on that..lots of pax complaining to other airlines..:hmm:

Grazie..

Absolutely fine!

A friend of mine is with Qantas Link and is earning around A$2100 to $2500 net per forthight which includes allowances, how does that compare to VA.

I Just Want To Fly 2nd Apr 2009 22:44

To be conservative you can expect $1900 per fortnight. More if you do BNE trips. This is a bit less than The Missing Link, but you work a bit less.

You are however away from home alot more, so you need to decide what you want to do with your life! Do you like to come home each night, or are you happy to socialize with crew downroute.

Our route network will eventually expand, and promotion will be faster than an average airline. Hard working crew can expect to become CL within 1-2 years. This would take 5-10 years at QF!

inandout 3rd Apr 2009 03:33

IJWTF, that $1900 would be gross with one trip to LAX. QF link are making $2100-$2500 NETT- A LOT MORE:eek:

Jackbr 3rd Apr 2009 04:25

what do QF LH/SH, QCCA make?

GalleyHag 3rd Apr 2009 06:11

I dont know what QFLink you are refering to Eastern/Sunstate/National Jet? But I can assure you that $2100 to $2500 is possible maybe once or twice a year but no every single fortnight thats for sure. Qantas short haul crew not QD make that much but need to be away 12-13 nights a month. I have seen the payslips of Eastern QFLink crew member and she earns nothing like that and she is within the top 10 of senority. So would be interested to see how you come to that calculation.

inandout 3rd Apr 2009 19:54

She works for QL in Melb, must be gross not net.

highskier 11th Apr 2009 11:35

That would be impossible...i read from aviation forum that QFlink crews earn less than JQ crews. I could be wrong...please confirm it.

About V Aust uniform, it has black and white uniform? I guess black shirt is for purser and white shirt is for normal cabin crew?

I saw a QF's crew tag showing that she/he flew to LAX and then come back to Australia the next day many times. No two or three-day layovers?

I Just Want To Fly 12th Apr 2009 00:16

$1900 is net!

flyergirl 12th Apr 2009 01:34

highskier, that is correct. Although there are some longer layovers, 38 hours is not unusual at all.

red or white 12th Apr 2009 03:51

V oz is crap!

Guys really....

What a downer it was to fly as a commercial pax on VA1 SYD-LAX 9 april 09. Paid Y and waited to experience the "rock star treatment"...Sorry but where did that happen..perhaps in premium Y, doubt it..Service, food so average...Give me good old QF and even UA anyday....It really was a westie bus...Glad I work for QF!

inandout 12th Apr 2009 06:12

IJWTF, if your a FA at Va that is not possible on $40,000 or even CL 49, not nett.

bean_pole_69 14th Apr 2009 03:35

Hi Guys,

I can assure you that not all QLink Crew are getting $2100 - $2500 net each fortnight.. Perhaps some are GROSS.. Not sure where that figure came from, and depends on how much they work:)

I Just Want To Fly 18th Apr 2009 07:01

$1900 is net including allowances. My next one will be a little lower I presume due to the weaker US$.
