A Lurker, would you care to tell us who you are?? Thought not.
Now don't be silly, ever thought that the guys at PCC might actually not say who they are for fear of bullying. As BASSA are quite good at that. If they got the necassary support I'm sure they will announce who they are. But they probably just value their car, house and life too much! They probably don't have the time to be ''witch-hunted''.
I'm sure you would rather not say who you are (neither do I) as anyone could view this forum; company, union, members, and I do not need to explain the consequences that could result!

You laughed till your sides ached? Thats all very brave when none of you even have the guts to say who you are?
Cabin Crew, that's who we said we are, and who we still are!

My guess is that none of you are Cabin Crew and I will keep that belief until you have the guts to say who you are and who you represent
Lurker,
I credited you with a bit more intelligence than that! You obviously didn't do your homework very well, did you now?
Please, I can bear this, I'm laughing even more now!

How much interest in PCCcccccc????

The PCCC or what ever their name is? The majority of people who have contacted them is made up of largely PRO BASSA members having lots of alternative email accounts contacting them. Literally dozens of them that I have heard of. However much interest they might state they have is totally false and misleading.

BA will never listen to them.

A. Lurker

So it seems you are quite determined to bring about the end of the Company that employs you:

I am preparing for life after BA because this is now what it is going to come too.
So if you are so convinced that this means the end of BA why not leave now and go off and run your franchise?

By the way YES vote from me - all the way till the end
Presumably we'll still hear from A Lurker once Bassa has been disbanded & all the strikers have departed BA's employment, always assuming that;

a) The strike happens.
b) AL has the b**** to actually take IA.

Life wouldn't be the same without his wonderful humour. I'm laughing nearly as much as Tiramisu.

A Lurker: Do BA know that you're working outside of your employed role? Is there not a clause in your contract stating that you should inform them?

Papillon,

There is in fact a clause in our contracts which states that we must inform the company if we wish to seek a second job.

Gg

I am BA cabin crew and this is my own viewpoint and not that of BA.

A Lurker,

BA will be at an end if Unite damage the airline with a terrible strike. Fact. BA imposed NON-CONTRACTUAL changes because BASSA were too hung up on the fact that reality was hitting them in the face and they didn't like it and were arguing on not having CC89 in the room etc etc. They were doing things sensible 'progressive' unions do not or shouldn't do. BA was hemmoraging money every day - Unite just came up with a proposal saving a tiny bit of money no consultation with members etc etc... What did you expect the company to do. We are going to the court to see if they are contractual or not - that should be enough. Don't start the ''what if what if what if'' campaign of ''if we accept this, then whatever next'' - because if I am frank, then you could make up everything. The union needs to realise that BA WILL impose if the union are not proactive. So they need to be more proactive and face reality. Even if some of it isn't pretty!

You ''cannot wait'' - for what. Sounds like you have nice plans if everything with BA fails so you are alright jack and this is the attitude many BASSA reps/Unite leadership have.... ''I will fight and if BA goes bust oh well.... I have a window company outside BA'' etc etc. What about those of us who depend on BA and those of us newer lot who have a lot of time in the company and want a company to progress in? Sorry to be blunt here but some of you are AWFULLY selfish!

Don't tell me striking is getting WW back to the table - he has been there and they have been talking the last few weeks. Just because Unite don't like what's being proposed doesn't mean they should strike. Be proactive about it. The proposals are not brilliant, and many items should be removed, but why not negotiate to accept parts of it and the parts that are not accepted, offer alternatives, rather than being at the opposite end of the spectrum just offering 1/3 of the savings with ridiculous ideas (closing cabins, cancelling flights etc etc)

Yes Fincastle you are JUST a punter - BA doesn't need you

'Tis rich it is coming from a CSD and am I right - customer service trainer

Yes they say that current crew will stay on their contracts, but they also say that current crew will have to eventually move onto New Fleet contracts or find a new job within BA or leave. This is where the problem is. Can no one see this?
PLEASE I urge you to tell me where they have said this?? If you are referring to the redeployment clause then this does not ''necassarily'' mean this. If they have actually stated in a proposal -current crew moved over to New Fleet' then I do stand corrected!

I call BS on Lurker's external business interests.

I was self-employed for over ten years and I had all the work I could handle without needing to do "Plate laying" as you call it to supplement my income.

If you're having to take a second job then I would suggest you revise your business strategy for your own enterprise because it's clearly not working. Or do you just do it for fun?

Let me repeat for "A Lurker" who said "THEY SAVED A LIFE FOR GODS SAKE" - I think you already know how crap that cross post was, and I doubt you bothered letting the person that posted it know the truth as I asked you - and BAW - FFS read the thread. I have never once hidden my reasons for being involved in this conversation.

Good to see the diehards panicking.

Cheers to all and please let's support the PCC. It's late in Bahrain so I bid you adieu.

you know nothing of BA because you are just a punter
There's no way I will ever forget that I'm just a punter whose fares go to pay the wages of CC. I'll also never forget the stress caused by the threat of IA prior to Christmas, a lovely pre Christmas present from Bassa's jolly members.

There is no doubt that assuming BA survives the recession & the attentions of Bassa it will be a better airline in the future, once the dead wood has been removed. Let's hope that it still has some punters who still want to use its services.

I am a crew member - what are you going to do for me and how are you going to do it?
Feel free to email The PCC please Lurker and you'll have all the information you need.
Who knows, you might come round to our way of thinking by Voting NO to Strike action and Resign from AMICUS/BASSA/UNITE.

I'm BA Cabin Crew and the above are my personal views and not those of BA.

F/A's won't take down an Airline. They are the easiest employee group to replace.

lurker and BAW 175

quote lurker

``you are just a punter - dont ever forget that``

what a fool !

Don`t you realise whatever business you are in ,either your BA one or your other little sideline/franchise.

PUNTERS PAY YOUR WAGES!!
``By the way YES vote from me - all the way till the end ``

Vote yes all of you and it will be THE END!!

Quote BAW175

`` If you were faced with the certainty that your job would be made obsolete in about a years time ``

RUBBISH

There is no doubt that over time the routes you operate and the size of the `old school`` fleet will diminish and a proportion of your earnings will be eroded. There is a part of the BA proposal that protects some of that if you read it.
That is the worst case scenario in reality, Loooking at the state of the company unles you and your colleagues make some concessions here. You will be out of a job/obsolete as soon as/if you vote to go on strike!!

BA Flight from the regions to CPT and return £3400
Air France from the regions to CPT and return £2100.

Service much the same but cost is king. Make the right decision folks.

With LHT/KLM Air France as LH competitors and EZY/Ryanair as SH competition BA is not in a good position. The management will not remember you when you are gone. Nor will your union reps. Difficult times ahead for all.

Since it is accusation day A Lurker, I doubt you yourself are cabin crew. None of the people I have flown with in my 22 year career have ever been as objectionable as you. The only time I have heard anyone speak like that, they have been premium fare passengers often with the best part of the bar in them! For what it's worth I can vouch for Tiramisu, I saw her last week! Who can vouch for you?
