Arrow Living in Abu Dhabi

Hey guys,

I got a phone call from a recruitment lady from Etihad asking me to join their assesement day in either Brisbane or Sydney in November..

Just a few things, does anybody know what the living is like in Abu Dhabi compared to Dubai?

And what are the apartments like that they put their staff in? and how many crew share the rooms?

Could you also advise on what is required to bring with you on the day of the interview? (Do they accept binded resume's, as I know Emirates do not on their open days).

Regards.

J.

Hi

Hi,

This is Ram from the Philippines and I passed the assessment here last September 16, 2007. They asked us to wait for a call after 3 weeks for the medical. And it's been pver 3 weeks now and I haven't recieve any calls from them.
Do they usually takes that long to call and inform somebody who passed their assessments??

Thank you...
Hope you reply...

Hi Ram,

Don't lose hope.

It happened to me as well but I'm here in Dubai and a Filipino as well.

I called them to check after three weeks and told me they have problems with contacting me. Now, I'm processing my poloce clearance...

I sent you a PM for further details.

Hey Guys

I used to work at Etihad

Some apartments are amazing some are very basic I lived in Al Fardan building that is one of the basic ones, Cresent is the nicest has its own pool amazing building.

To the question do you need to be able to swim well yes is the answer you learn to ditch in a pool but guys if you can swim and you want this job you will need to learn if you need to ditch in an emergency you are the ones the pax look to and if your drowning or needing help well all that training would be a waste of time.

AUH is a lot different to DXB in Dubai it is very western in AUH it is very arabic not as much to do but still a great city.

Sadly the job was not for me but best of luck to everyone I hope it want you all want

Assessment Day Nov 3rd Syd

Hey guys,

I'm new here so hope this message is posted correctly.. lol

I received a call 2 days ago inviting me to either Sydney or Brisbane too. I've decided on Sydney & organising everthing since I'm coming from Melbourne to attend.

What I would like to know is how long does it all take?

Because with EK it took over 5 days in total which includes the open day on saturday, assessment day on sunday then one-on-one interviews scheduled over the next 3 days (mon, tues & wed) if you were successful of course.

I look forward to meeting those attending up in Sydney

S.

An agency in Brisbane

sadly there is an agency in Brisbane for EY and EK (not sure EK's case)
the agency is Aviation Australia which is the main traning center for QF and DJ crews. I attended EY openday in Brisbane few months ago then I've got a phone call from the agency..
they seemed like need some students and money....BIG MONEY!!!

at the very first round EY selected almost young students from the agency only......
sad....

Sunny Choi,

Have you applied online?
I was considering travelling up to Brisbane from Melbourne to do the course but I've decided I'll only do this is a last resort.

Let me know how you go?...

Hi :)

Hey Guys,

I'm attending the Sydney Assessment day as well, so I should see you there BlueSkySid and any other Sydney Assessment guys out there in prune land as well lol

I don't really have any questions, reading through the whole thread most of my questions seemed to be answered, so I thought I'd just say Hi.... "Hi" and thanks for all the info.

Happy flying to all those that are off to Abu Dhabi!

if you can see the address of the place where the assement day gonna hold and if the address is "Aviation Australia" I'm sure they(EY) are going to do this job with the Agency..

Hey sunny

Unfortunately they are only doing Brisbane & Sydney. They may do Melbourne in the near future but sounds to me like this year is out of the question, hence why I'm flying up to Sydney because I'm not waiting.

Congrats to those flying off today - lucky ducks!

Question: Do they fly successful candidates direct from Melbourne or do we arrange travel ourselves to get to Sydney then fly out from there??

Just curious...

Hey, Moshi.

If you aren't hearing about your medicals, call them, email Ryan, or use whatever emails/phone numbers you have at their office. Don't feel like you're bothering them; my friends tell me they're just very busy.

BlueSky,

Etihad flies successful people from their nearest home airport; they just don't pay for you to come to interviews.

Good luck!!!
