Red face more bad news for qf drivers

i hear that AIPA is taken legal action against the J* EBA outcome. should make interesting reading in time. one can safely assume that there is going to be no movement in qf pilots ranks for years (apart from age based retirements). to make things worse for the s/o's and f/o's and junior cpt.'s the faa in the united states is about to change the retirement age for pilots to 65 years. this means qf will have a lot more "old pacific barons". csm have to order an extra wheelie on the pacific sectors.

short haul eba voted up

Dear Colleague,
Flight Attendants’ Association of Australia – Short Haul Division (Qantas Airways Limited)
Enterprise Agreement 7 Consolidated
The SH EBA 7 Ballot result was declared on Saturday 18th March. The negotiations were constructive
and detailed and we are pleased to announce it was approved by 58.7% of crew who voted.
Total number of votes returned - 2,022
Number of ‘YES’ votes approving the Agreement – 1,187
Number of ‘NO’ votes opposing the Agreement - 835
As previously mentioned EBA 7 is a substantial document because it consolidates EBAs 1 through to
6, in conjunction with the new provisions for EBA 7. The EBA will now be filed with the Australian
Industrial Relations Commission (AIRC) for Certification.
Additional information on the Agreement can be obtained from either Qantas or the FAAA. If you have
any queries, please contact your Manager.
Regards,
Alison Webster
General Manager Cabin Crew

Angry interference

it most likely interferred with the shopping, hairdressers appointment or a trip with girlfriends.

A's in English, ey? What is that supposed to mean? What happened to punctuation and capital letters? And where is HKK?

I think the level of written English in this, and many other online forums these days, is appalling. No one would expect these posts to be perfect, but honestly, some posts in here are almost unreadable.

Do people even know the difference between "your" and "you're", or the difference between "there", "their" and "they're"? It's really not that bloody difficult. Aaarrgghh! It drives me insane!

Just think what it does to the Mods who have to read all this stuff. An entire generation raised on Nokia speak - sometimes you could weep!

Ahhh let's see....

58.7% of crew did vote so that leaves...? Oh yes 41.3%

So now we've done the English and Maths classes.
What's next? Geography perhaps!

English lesson
QF CSM and Capt Cynical
The 58.7 % figure was of crew who voted.
That means the 41.3% figure was crew who voted NO.

You need to have the total number of Short haul crew and the number of those who voted to figure out how many didn't vote.It appears it's not about the maths but comprehending english.

You are right however of accusing those who didn't vote of apathy.
Those who didn't vote have no right to complain about any outcomes. Ironically it's usually those individuals who complain the loudest!

Thanks for the maths lesson. Might be better if you read the posts properly before commenting.
I got my 6 y/o son to help me with the maths. Looks like approx 15% did not vote.

What is sad is that a huge group of crew didnt vote at all. It was a phone call, type in staff#, pin# then press 1 or 2. Bloody easy. You had 10 days to do it. No excuses. Lazy ****s.

And as someone else mentioned....just wait for the whinging...

" tell 'em they're dreamin' "

All the talk in the O(ri)ffice at the moment is that "the package" is going to be offered to L/H cabin crew -word is the A380 commencement date has been pushed out another 18 months -
personally - I can't see Darth handing out a few million bucks to a bunch of what he sees as senior, selfish & slothful stewards -far better to wait for the IR law that allows him to call it "an operational restructuring" - move over to Jet* International with a 30% reduction in salary & conditions or else - on ya bike - "oh, yeh, and here's your SIN $8 watch for exceptional 30 yr service."
Still, its nice to see the old guys dreaming over their crew drinks beer......."the package, the package..." the L/H Lassiter's Reef.....
