Criteria?

What criteria was used to determine that the QFUK base "came thru` with flying colours"?.Every time I take over an a/c that is ex LHR...the CSM has to spend the first two hours placating unhappy pax upset by "Bloody Dixon`s London Experiment"...A direct quote from a P/C Emerald frequent Flyer.
PP do you honestly think that management would ever admit that the LHR base is a failure?
Not while their @rses point to the ground!!

Can anyone from the LHR base confirm/deny that a small number of the UK based crew have been told by management that they can only spend their allowances on food and must keep a receipt for everything they buy?

The receipt is to be handed over to base management so they can inform the tax office how much crew are spending during slips.

Sounds like a management ploy to monitor how much allowances we are using during slips. Possible to crews detriment in future.

Anyone, anyone...dust?

CRIKEY, BLOODY HELL, SH!T, BUGGER.

Give up on the bitching London base.
Who cares. They are cheap labour and if they loose an allowance - GREAT!

Now, down to serious stuff - I just broke a fingernail!
It was while I was giving the bird to the FAAA who apparently haven't noticed that long haul cabin crew have been losing their flying.

In fact I don't think the FAAA are even AWAKE.

LOUD SHOUTING: "WAKE UP YOU FAAA IMBECILES".

Are you ever going to do anything....
I mean really does "oh our hands are tied industrially or legally" wash with crew?

How come tech crew haven't been directed onto long service leave? Because they said "NO. NO. NO".

The FAAA are a bunch of wimps who came to power with all sorts of promise - but no ticker.

Stop the erosion of long service leave now and you may get some credibility back. Or are you better suited to setting up a nice office with pretty pot plants and cute furnishings.

Ah what the hell - it's a lost cause. Waste of money donating to the FAAA so might give it to a worth while charity - hmmmm AA sounds good....

1. This is 2005 not 1968...less than 30 % of the workforce is unionised.Legislation has limited union authority and its going to be curtailed even further by Howard`s majority in both houses
2.There is a shortage of pilots at QF(and gradually worldwide)So no directed long service leave.
3.When are you going to stand for election and right all the wrongs?
4.Put up or shutup!!

Disengaged, I'm all for the LHR base failing/closing would make my year and give me back my flying.

I think you did't get the point of my post - if QFUK are monitoring their allowances then it also gives the company some indication of what we spend during slips.

I can't imagine them asking any Australian based crew to present receipts for what they've spent! Can you imagine? I'd tell them to shove it up their a*se.

Just wanted to find out if the rumour was true? If so I wonder if the FAAA are aware of it?

Oh RAVER
Now I know the rationale behing the "yes" vote in your EBA
It was apathetic attitudes like yours.
"roll over and be subservient"

but that's right you're always concerned about how many spots are on your uniform! that is what is important eh!

It will be an interesting year for you and your mates!

Tow-Truck,

I'm curious as to how you formulated your conclusuion and "know" the rationale to the yes vote? I'm guessing you based it on my post about having bags searched and my "apparent" attitude??? Hmmm I can see the connection too!!! Very analytical! Very well thought out indeed!!!

On top of that you don't even know what I voted.

"roll over and be subservient"
I think your attitude is somewhat the same as the above. May I ask what you did to stop the LHR base going ahead??? People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

Have a great night.

With regards to the pax being unhappy with the UK crew, i went to a crew forum the other day and the stats that they displayed on the overhead actually says otherwise.

Basically from the survey's conducted by an external company - not QF, it seems that there is no prob with what the UK crews are doing from a pax's point of view.

I am not UK crew....just letting you know what the stats say that were presented by the company. And please...save your typing if your going to say that these figures are fudged etc. Sure, they might be but this is what they are telling us.

Cheers.

I assume you mean the roadshow or as it should be called the brainwashing show in Singapore.

This would be the same roadshow that told us that we are not making any money on the JFK route and GD is only leaving us there to show the flag!!!!!

If you believe that ,you would believe anything

I've had quite a few friends and colleagues travel from LHR back to Syd with QF recently. They have all been most complimentary regarding the new LHR based crews - well done keep up the good work! Main line crews don't do your selves out of a job!

my feedback again

obno i have now taken 5 a/c from london based crews. its interesting that on each occassion i ended making anumber of notes (safety deficencies and feedback from premium punters regarding the lack of standards) and passed them on. but my more worrying point is a very good friend who is, sorry , was a qf 10 regular in pc has decided to go ba to oz. plain feedback its inconsistant. i suppose when you are as a platinum spending a
bit of money shuttling backwards and forwards one can allow them to make a valid observation. unfortunatly this person is also in a senior role in a major corporation and has the ability to influence travel arrangements for their corporation.
as far as i am concerned i dont give a flying you know what if the london base succeeds or is shut down. the only losers are qf shareholders , qf and its stubborn, sometimes very unprofessional management.

more cuts on the way

as GD (and JB in his roadshow) said the other day in the paper he wants to save another 10% or some 800million+ in the next two years. and as some newspapers keep now quoting PG i tip by early next to middle year GD is retiring.
