Thanx HG. I thought I was hallucinating when it appeared to have disappeared again. It's not very controversial is it?

The only thing I'm really worried about is this 'quiz' about Qantas and Australia. I've been trying to learn about it all. What I already know about Oz can be written on the back of a postage stamp unfortunately. Was it difficult? Best of luck HG!

GRRRRRRrrrsrrrr

Hi guys,

Good luck for those who have applied!!! You really need to be patient!!! I applied 2 weeks ago:

put my application thrue , the next day they called me back, offered me to go to LHR on the 3rd, i live in Dubai... fine i agree.. the next day i get a phone call asking why i didn t show up and if i wanted to come that same afternoon . They then did it again the next day. I was really getting Pi... off with them .. as i didn t want to show up the on the 3rd for nothing.

Traveled to LHR for 24hrs... paid the airline fare (fiouf, subload at least ) hotel etc etc for a 20 mn group interview!!!!!!!!! at the end they say they' ll contacvt you within48hrs, and had been neraly a week now..still no news, i called them up ..spending 25mn on the phone waiting , and they said that they couldn t find my file.

Now i have to WAIT AND SEE!

GOOD luck guys!!!

I think i' ll wait here in DXB till something better comes up

W2Fly - I've got mine on Thurs at 09.00. Is that when you're going? Where are you going from? I know it will be a very early start to get there for that time in the morning. Maybe I'll see you there.

HI Tart...

My Interview is at 1pm as I am travelling from Leamington Spa in the morning will be in London by approx 1130am so it will give me plenty of time...

By The way I am 35 and only started flying this summer for Thomas Cook out of Birmingham there was a lady who was 47 on my course and we are best of mates now lol lol - and when I went on line there were crew in their late 40's and fifties and they are all brilliant and on our layovers we had a fantastic time....... so hang in there and remember an airline needs crew from all walks of life and all ages to match its customer profile - Unless your Virgin Atlantic that is.....(dont start me on that one !!).

good luck though ;-)

Hi Wan2fly

Good luck tomorrow then! I also have an interview with Virgin. From what you are saying it might be tricky at my great age!! (Which is 46 incidentally) I have to say I was surprised and pleased to get an interview - I did specially wear a short skirt on my full-length photo and the old legs are not too bad for my advanced years. You've got to laugh haven't you? (Well I do anyway!)

Ongoing recruitment

Hi hostiegirl!

In addition to your info about ongoing recruitment, the company is allowed to employ up to 480 cabin crew in London (having negotiated this figure with the FAAA Union here in AUS)

It is expected that relocating AUS crew will be moving over in the months of Feb, April and May.

Also, in response to a now deleted thread, in my (limited) experience, there is always a 'them and us' attitude amongst crew that are paid different amounts for doing the same job.

Good luck with your interviews

Hey Tart !!

Well good luck with your Virgin interview - I just feel that they dropped the age limit to be seen to be PC !! and they have to interview all candidates of all ages now........ I personally will not apply for virgin again for this reason - however i wish you much luck .........................

Lets hope the QF one comes off :-)

Not meaning to rain on your parade.. but the 870 in the agreement refers to TOTAL number of overseas based crew.. remember that Qantas has long established bases in both BKK and AKL and correct me if I am wrong there is already close to 400 staff working from those two bases.. and then if you take into account what's already been stated about Aussie crew in fact being counted as overseas based crew...

Hmm... I'm not sure whether these figures are somewhat rubbery depending where they originate, however I have heard that they already have 170 Aussies lined up and are still processing applications for more Aussies to come over to the UK.

My understanding is that they want as many "Australian-based" crew to relocate to the UK as possible.

Anyway, I think your right hostiegirl, it will be a good base with lots of interesting crew
