Jettlager....

Ah............um........not the ones I spoke to in LHR.
Two 11 months Australian based contractors who are going to QFUK for two years as it is the ONLY way for an AUSTRALIAN to secure a full time job.
That may be true for some of the crew transferring over, but many are actually going because they see it as a brilliant opportunity. True, those who started off on contracts will gain ongoing employment. But at the end of the day, many people are going because they enjoy flying, London is seen as an attractive place to live and its all a bit of an adventure.

Whilst, I agree that many of the crew going over are "newbies" and there has been little chance to practice the BFirst training, perhaps it might be worthwhile cutting the guys some slack. I'm sure it's not deliberate, but your comments do indirectly insult a lot of the crew going over.

I do see your point about cost cutting and the like, but it's pretty uncharitable gloating about how bad the base / product will end up.

The base is a reality, it's happened and its not ideal. But, we might as well embrace it and get on with it and try and make it work. I'm looking forward to working with the crew transferring over and definately looking forward to meeting the new local recruits!!

guys,
i have to say i am pretty disappointed and a little offended that those who are not joining the operation in LHR are so negative and so certain that this is all going to go wrong and there can't possibly be any decent crew out there. i am one of the brits who has joined qf uk and have got a fair amount of experience, including 747. the uk does have experienced crew you know! i am quite confident that we will still be producing the top notch product that qf is so proud of and currently training us in, along with sep. im enjoying my training, its the most well structured and interesting course ive attended (there have been a couple more over the years) and i'm really looking forward to going on line and so is everyone else i have met so far, experienced and non experienced alike, brit or aussie, it makes no difference. this will work! just give it a rest please!!

Future?Apology Airlines

Lets see how you feel in 12 months when you have runout of sickleave, fatigue has set in and you are fed up with stores/equipment shortages and IFE breakdowns, disruptions,no onboard managers(crew shortages)..aaaahhhh yes welcome to the world of Qantas-incompetent inefficient and uncaring that it is.
Enthusiasm is always the first casualty of employment with the FLYING KANGAROO

Red face

capt.cynical expresses strong disagreement to socks' words.

you don't have to get mad at someone to express your disagreement. You also can explain your point of view. Seems to work wonders
