Well, havent been on here for a while .... I suppose it's safe now to scream:

" I am still heading to London - in Feb - and cant wait"

... now that the nastiness of the EBA is over!!

The latest from the cabincrew UK site says they have already offered positions to those they wish to hire :

We've had over 4000 external candidates apply for London -based flight attendant roles and we have offered contracts to 110 very enthusiastic new recruits. We will be running additional assessment centres early in London in the new year.
That is from the General Manager for Qantas Cabin Crew UK.

So congrats to those of you who got the jobs, and good luck to those having interviews in the new year ............................this old gal looks forward to flying around with you guys.

QANTAS interview in London

Who knows something about the interview?
I've seen many post about the salary and anyone says a different thing, 12.000 15.000 and even 25000 GBP annual.
Is there someone who has correct information about all it?
Thanks and happy new year

Cheap hotels at LHR?

There is an Ibis hotel on Bath Road (see here).

Alternatively, opposite the Ibis is a Premier Travel Inn, which seems nice for a budget hotel (see link here).

If you want any more info re. possible cheapish hotels near LHR, feel free to PM me. And good luck!

Reliably informed that QFUK are having enormous trouble securing the services of "suitable" FAs for their up and coming operation.

A couple of sources indicate that of the 5000 applicants only 90 were deemed worthy.

Perhaps that explains why so many LHR patterns are in open time for SYD based crew.............?

So desperate is the operation it seems, that a BFirst position has been given to a retired {ie took the money and ran} EX SYD based Longhaul Line Manager. This individual, with a reputation going back to his engineering days, suggesting that he would be unable/unwilling to work in an iron lung.

Any QFUKers needing a wash and a cut should however seek him out, for an "unbiased" of course, recommendation....................

Any truth to the rumour that for QFUK the 5 week CSM course has been condensed into 8 days and that the most junior QFUK CSM in an ex Perth shorthauler with 1 1/2 years experience having never flown [operated] on a 744?????

P.S. Swiss cheese anyone? Fanks Guvna.

The rumour is partly true, the Perth shorthauler is actually ex regional and has been flying some 6 years (1.5 with short haul), although no previous 744 experience and is going into a CSS position not CSM.
