Oh this is too funny, you go to a panel interview in Australia and then you are invited to the first stage in LHR, what on earth was the panel interview for may I ask?

I tend to agree with what Jetlagger said on a previous post - Karma!!

Team Manager Postions Anyone?

Hi guys,

Has anyone else been tele-screened for the Team Manager positions?

I had mine a few days ago, they told me they would call the following day to let me know if I was through as it was a tight schedule for interviews (end of this week and beginning of next). I'm still waiting nearly 3 days later! I called today to check whats what, go left in a queue for 15mins then answered by someone who really didn't inspire me with confidence. He said they'd call back, but didn't bother to take my number.

It all sounds a tad disorganised to me... although I appreciate they probably flooded with calls.

Anyone else had similar experiences?

did you have to go through hudson agency who are working on behalf of qantas??they are using a call centre in glasgow and at the moment it seems like they are bogged down with mistakes being made!!people have had emails telling them they are unsuccessful then a phone call inviting them to next stage!!!. good luck with application.

Hi hostiegirl

I presume its the same agency that are doing cabin crew recruitment, probably Hudson again. I applied though an internet ad, didn't go through the main website where you apply for cabin crew.

The guy who called me originally was scottish, but when I called them today I got an australian! No idea whats going on, but then again, I don't think they have either!

Oh well, just have to wait and see I suppose. Its very frustrating though.

Interesting......They must want to to the whole selection process and then decide who they want, so they can get things started straight away rather than sending them to a medical after they have chosen who they want. In Australia successful candidates are the ones who get to go to a medical and they are usually accepted unless they have major health/physical problems which may affect their performance while working.

Are we inor wot?

Dunno about you other guys,,,but I am getting a tad p'd off with the lack of info coming from the Qantas direction.....

Their exact words to me were, "you have been succesful at the application stage, you will now go through to the verification stage". Now forgive me if I'm wrong, but surely being successful at an application stage constitutes getting the darn job?

Oh, I dunno....good job I'm keeping my options open innit!!

I'm feeling a bit on the despondent side now, having also thought that med and p/work were the end of the selection road! Has anyone had a medical and received or not received a job offer in writing? I have mine Friday so fingers crossed! What will they do if everyone checks out ok???

As I said earlier, Toni said that all the candidates who get through to the final part will be assessed, and the final 200 chosen from them. I asked on behalf of a friend who has had her medical, as she didn't know where she stood. Toni stressed that having got to that stage they weren't successful, but through to the final two stages. I am sure most people thought that they had the job if the medical was ok, which is what I would have thought too. She also mentioned there is another round of interviewing after Christmas and that the first course would be mid February, going on line in April.

Thanks, I'm sure most people thought the same! Still, it's best to be as informed as poss, which isn't alot at the moment! It's odd though as the guys in the call centre and Toni both said to me that the verification stage was just a formality so that was a bit misleading!! Oh well, be keeping everything crossed!

I suppose it depends on what they are really after! Sometimes you can go through the whole process and still not make it, but that doesnt necessarily mean that they didnt want you. Sometimes they only require a certain number of crew and when they have too many in hand they simply reject them! But I dont think that would be the case with LHR, unless they have interviewd too many candidates. Anyway just hope for the best.

The verification stage is a formality for most people, most don't have a criminal record and their references come through ok etc. But after that stage, it appears there is the final selection from those that get through to the fifth stage!
