Got to the final interview!
Hey guys,
I just did the assessment day here in Rio de Janeiro and it was amazing. The assessors were Sally and Marina and they were terrific all day long. I had a great time, met a ton of really really really great competitors and at the end, I made it through! Final interview is Friday....fingers are crossed and hopes are up. Good luck to all of you who are going through, have gone through or will go through the same process!

Hi Pinklemonae,I've had a look at the Emirates website and an open open day is scheduled in Brisbane on 9 September. Not sure if your email advising of the cancellation was in regards to this one but just thought I should point this out to you just in case. Plus, there is also an open day scheduled on 16 September in Melbourne.I hope these don't get cancelled!!All the best.

Did anyone else get this email?
Thanks.

Interview
Hei people
I'm new here and I hope that somebody can help with more details about the Interview ... how is the English test? Hopefully not so difficult, what kind of questions should I expect?
I wish a nice day for everybody.
Ciao

The English test is 1 hr long. It’s not difficult but during my time few people could not clear it. So what is easy for one person may not be easy for the other.
The first few questions were based on these 2 paragraphs that were given. You had to read the paragraphs and based on that pick your answer from the multiple choice.
The next question was that they had given u few words and for each word you had to match it with its synonym (similar meaning word).
If I remember correctly there were a set of questions which were based on how you understand English/or to put in a better way commands given to you. These were again multiple choice and you had to pick the best option.
Finally in the end u had to write an essay. What they wanted was that u should have a flow in your essay.
Hope this helps.

Hei dear popins
Many thanks for your kindly reply.
Sorry to bother you again...but do you remember what kind of words (synonym) they have chosen? (Adjetives? or...give me an example if you remember).
The other task was about airplane/airport symbols/signage comprehension, wasn't it? I heard something about...I'm trying to find some info at the Internet but I'm not lucky...and I never worked as cabin crew so I don't have any idea about it and I would like to prepare myself before apply otherwise ...
I would appreciate if you have any other tips and info.
Many thanks

They do ask you if you have any scars/birthmarks etc. If they are in the visible portion than they will ask you to show it to them. I had a girl with me in my group who had a birth mark and she was made to show it to them. They rejected her after that round as it was a big one on her arm.

i think the main issue about scars is wether they can be spotted whilst one is in uniform.
if its in a place where it cannot be seen, maybe that would not be a problem.

English Test
Hi Michaelsen,
I did the English test yesterday and there were two people, out of 13, eliminated for it. You should be aware that it looks like they are looking for people with a really good level of speaking and a lot of people got eliminated in the first round for that reason alone. I was speaking with one of the girls and she told me that you need to get 70 or 80% on the English test to pass, but that doesnt seem toooo bad for the writing part. I heard a lot of people saying the test was easy. I´m a native speaker, so I cant say too much!
In the first part, we had to read two passages and answer some multiple choice questions about the passages in general. Then, we had to take some of the bold words from the passages and match them with a synonym. Then we had a part with like 14 different signs saying various things and we had to choose out of four options what the sign was trying to say. After that, we had to write a little essay about the most challenging thing we have done in our life. I think they change the essay topic every time. I know when they were in São Paulo the essay topic was to write about your biggest regrets.
Hope that helps...I wish you the best of luck in the future!
