Soseck & electrolass

SoseckNot a problem! My DOJ is the 7th of November.

Electrolass is could very well be. I know that the teeth that you have showing all need to be in a straight line, you can have missing teeth at the back. Your bottom teeth can be less than perfect but only if they cant be seen when you smile. There were some very pretty girls at my open day but they didn't get through (one can only assume) because, they either had crooked teeth or a 'tiger tooth' (random tooth at the side).

Couldn't resist the smiley...

I would say if you have all of that work done, make sure you tell your dentist that you are applying for Emirates and see if there is any additional things that need doing as you need to have a dental medical, which can be sooooo expensive. Then you can wait till you get through and get the call or just have it all done in advance.

hello everybody, i wanted to know if you know someone who had to wait for more than months and got the rejection email. Does a long waiting time means you have been selected and that they need to fit you in or they just forgot to send the rejection email.

please help if you know something about it that would be awesome, thanks.

congrats to all those getting their GC

Hi guys,

I had my FI on 29.8....on 8.9. my status changed from Applied to Approval in Progress and I received Image and Uniform mail...hope this is a good sign

It is though happening really fast everything, I wasn't expecting anything for quite some time (from reading how slowly everthing usually goes with them)...did anyone had FI the same day as I did?

A re they flexible, if you wish to start later than then offer you (their fisrt DOJ)? Or is it a problem...?

Thanks...and keep your fingers crossed for me to get the GC soon!

Hi!
I had my FI a day earlier - on 28.August, and my status remains unchanged since then - "Application under review". And congratulations to you, I'm sure you will receive your GC soon

Hi everyone,

I received my Golden call last Monday and I'm now working through my medicals, my flight to Dubai is set for Nov 14th from Manchester. Is there anyone also due to fly on that date and does anyone know how much money you will need to tied you through until the first months pay. I also read somewhere that Emirates can give you an advance payment.

Thanks x

Viiva - I think it depends on how quickly you recruters arrive back to Dubai...and if you gave them everything they needed on your FI (I did). Probably those two things can make everything faster. Just hope your recruters don't have too many open days to attend

What time do you think we would - those who had our FI in the end od August (IF were are chosen) realisticly start in Dubai? Hope not too soon, got some things I still have to do at home.

Good luck to us all stil waiting for that GC!

Hi guys!
First, good luck to everyone attended/will attend the upcoming OP/AD and so on!!
I'm here again to ask some of you some questions that day by day are coming up to my mind and I wasn't able to find any proper answer around
1. Does it make any difference at all having a double citizenship? (I'm half Italian and half Polish)

2. I don't know where I read it, anyway, I'm a student of japanese and I heard somewhere that you need to provide a specific test (something like the TOEFL certification) to prove your knowledge of the language. Does any of you know if that is true?

3. Ok, this might be a stupid one, I admit. I happened to be in Japan during the big earthquake, I was actually in Tokyo because of a one year exchange programme and unfortunately I had to give it up after 6months and return home in a rush due to all the consequent nuclear problem. Now, would it be a wise thing to state in my cv or not? What do you think?

Thanks!!

juliette: If you get to the stage of FI, they will ask you if you have double citizenship and you will have to write it in a form they provide, but they will also ask you which passport do you own and where do you live at the moment (because of your annual leave ticket to home country). If you only have like one passport and you live in one place thats no problem, you will write it down as you wish.

I believe if you state to FLUENTLY speak some other language than your mother tongue you will have to do some tests once you arrive in Dubai and you will have to provide some sort of certificate.

In your CV write just things that would really help you (like experience in cosumer consulting), because they will read it thoroughly and will ask you questions about it (and if you wish not to explain just leave it out). They will also ask you to feel the gaps in time beetwen finishing your high school and today (you must explain what you were doing for every single year). At least this is what they asked me - to explain everything since high school. So at FI you will have to tell them about it, but you can leave it out of your CV.

Remember: just be you, smile, be WELL prepared with the photos (professionally done, bussiness attire, SMILE), needed documents and dress (its been posted on here for many times), read out the whole forum so you will know what to expect! And try to be friendly, positive and listen to other people - dont be quiet and nor be loud. Just in the golden middle. Try to tell others you agree with them, take them into consideration - thats the trick as everything is about you being a part of the group!

Mmm007 I had my FI on the 15th August and I received the grooming email on the 24th August, my status changed to You'll be contacted... on the 28th Aug and received the Golden Call on the 29th Aug...

My recruitment co-ordinator suggested like Date of Joining the 17th of October, but then he changed me to the 31st of October...

To be honest, I thought they would tell me to join to the company by the end of November but surprinsigly they suggested to me to join in October...

I have been told that they are very low in staff now, and they are looking for people to join the company as soon as possible. Also, in the Open Day, one of the Recruitment Officer said that the Aviation College where not very crowded, and the other Recruitment Officer was not very happy when some people who made it to the Final Interview said that they could not join the company until January (obviously they wanted to spend Christmas time with their family), and they also asked the people if they were called to move to Dubai within two weeks if they would go or not....

From my point of view I think they are really considering how flexible the people are... because they are very low on staff...

I would have really loved to spend Christmas time with my family and also my birthday with family and friends... but it is my dream to join Emirates, and I am going to achieve my dream... so you should consider if this is your dream, and what you want to do with your life...

I'm pretty sure I will have fun spending xmas in Dubai, meeting new people and also it's going to be a new experience (but without my family)...

I hope this helps.

Good luck !!!

accomodation smoking or nonsmoking the dialema

hi everyone, I have my final interview tommorow and I have to decide wheather I want to be in smoking or non smoking accomodation.
I have been a smoker for 4 years on and off, and the recruitment ladies advise even social smokers to put down smoking. However, I quit in march and have not slipped upe yet, I have in the past quit for extended periods of time, 6 monthes then 2 monthes ect.., but i seem to be on an on off train, I dont want to start again but i am also considering that, it is lightly that my friend and boyfriend are smokers, I have no issues with smoking... pro's , cons ... help please

blanketbird well... i think this is very personal decision... it's up to you...
if you don't mind living with smoking people then right down YES, otherwise if you right down NO and you come back to the train and your flatmate is non-smoking you could not smoke in your apartment!!

Good luck in your Final Interview!!
