where i went.. there was like more then 300 people.. but only 5-6 got to the final interview.. yeah, i still remember that.. diet pepsi, on the rocks :P hehe.. i wonder wat happened to the other people who were here present on this forum.. guess that they are busy with some other stuff.. its only you and i here trying to figure out the mythical QR.. tell me something wats your opinion bout the rules of this airline?

the rules, lets see. my personal opinion is that there are strict rules, yes. but in order to make it a five star airline (check out skytrax), number 7 in the top ten if i remember right, you need to have strict rules and you need to stick to them. im sure its not gonna be easy, but everything is a question of getting used to. im sure that people who are extreme in ways and are not able to adapt easily shouldnt apply, i myself am a simple girl and so far im okay with their rules (e.g. i love sitting at home instead of going partying -thinking about the fact that you have to be home 12 hours before duty- haha, and well, i dont like extreme jewellery or whatever..), though i did think 'wow' when i saw how detailed they describe the regulations (like if ears pierced, must wear earring, length of heels etc.). still, i so far met those requirements
so im alright and looking forward to seeing how things work in the company. i will surely do my best to follow all the rules and be a good employee.what do you think kage?

I read this from QA website:
"Over the next few months, Qatar Airways will expand its global operations with the launch of 6 new routes – Amritsar (October 11) and Goa (October 25) in India; Melbourne (December 6) followed soon after by Sydney marking the airline’s entry into the Australian market subject to government approval; and two other cities in Europe"
Hopefully one of the new European cities will be Barcelona

Hmm.. I haven't heard about height of heels that they want us to wear. How is it? I'm quite tall so i rarelly wear high heels, feel like a giraffe 
Anyway, as they asked for our foot size at Uniform forms, aren't they supposed to provide us with shoes? Or you mean at daily life?
And another question... Do you know if they give us the panties with the uniform? Or do we have to buy them ourselves? Then I would buy 20 or 30 pairs here in Spain, as I break them sooo easily

oh the shoes, im talking about the training. you see, you will have the uniform once you finish training and they come with shoes. but training goes with your own clothes and there is a dress code of course, and they say you should wear heels that are at least an inch big, that is, 2,5cm. no worries, they are not THAT high. and im a shortie so they are good for me haha XD
about the stockings/pantyhose, yes buy a LOT of them haha. i did the same. they say you can buy them in doha too, but its better to have some stocked up before you go there.
(oh and the company doesnt supply those with the uniform)

you break them? how do you do that? :P or maybe its something that only girls should know.. hehe.. well iceania, they give you shoes and everything when it comes to the uniform.. but panties i dont know if they provide that.. im imagining myself wearing burgandy and white boxers with the oryx logo on it.. haha.. weird.. and when it comes to the rules.. i think that its alright.. i mean i hear so many people complaining bout no night life and all.. but which company in the world would ever bring people to some other place to have fun.. work and fun should be kept separate.. but if you work only and no leisure time, then you go for a breakdown.. iceania how tall are you?

Thats what is easy to got broken hahahaha. OMG so shameful! That mistake happened coz in Spain we call "pantis" to the tights, hehe

same here iceania.. i mean if we make it.. we should go and visit usagi who by then, would have already completed half of her training.. then she can show us around Doha :P and also all the others like starbitee, mariana, kay17 and all the guys and girls that we met and disscussed with on this forum.. day dreaming bout the possible future is nice sometimes :P

hello to all the very active members of this forum
most from our batch already got a call from doha HR. but we haven't received our contracts yet and the other documents. since doha offices are on holiday for a week, I think that our flight schedules will be rescheduled because of the delay in processing the papers. it's fine with me though because I still need to finish tons of things before leaving.
one from our batch already signed the contract but her passport is still in the embassy for visa stamping and since the embassy is closed for the holiday, she'll get her passport next week. the local agency handling our papers is also dead busy because they are now hiring people for Emirates airlines. this agency handling Qatar Airways is also handling Emirates. so imagine how dead busy they are at the moment. here in our country, there are THOUSANDS of people who attend open days.
and yeah, during our orientation, the recruitment officers told us to buy lots of stockings because all the rest are provided in terms of uniform, except the stockings.
I hope to see all of you in Dow-ha. let's make a peer group already. PPRUNERS goodluck to all those waiting for their medical clearance. Stay POSITIVE

haha kage, my memory actually is horrible! i cant remember numbers or faces im REALLY horrible but then again i have special memory for things like.. things i promised or ppl promised to me. or.. the vocabulary i taught to my students in the past oohohohoho they hate me for that! indeed, by profession im an english teacher so i taught english to mainly adult learners in the last three years (in a spanish speaking country). it was really fun, but i felt like my skills were not fully used and i wanted to do something more

A question here guys, do they provide make up?? And also i want to know if on the training course you have to wear suit skirts or you can wear long skirts no matter what their design is?? I hope you can understand my question hahaha
