RE: fees. Nope, fees are not charged for attending the assessment/open day. It is all free.

To whose who attended the AD in Tokyo, were there any boys who were selected after the CV submission stage? Really curious whether they are recruiting any boys at the moment. Thank you!

Bahus,

For an open day you don't need to apply online. Bring with your CV and photographs!

Wear business atire. Keep your hair simple and if it's long you should wear it in a ponytail. Make up should be neat and tidy and your nails should be polished. The colour on your make up and nail polish should also be same or at least in the same shade. They also like french manicure.

Arabic is good! Any language apart from English is positive.

I forgot to ask this:What do they ask you when you come to the interview? What are the usual questions? Is there a few levels,to check your written and spoken English?
And also about the weight,is that important or you have to be skiny?

They will measure and weigh you at the interview. Height and weight should be proportionate. As long as your BMI is fine.

They have changed the interview since I had mine but they do a language test with multiple choices to see that you can understand English. Obviously your spoken English will be tested as you have to speak at the interview.

Anyone havent received their clearance from the singapore batch - April?

I'm still waiting for their update. I wonder why it's taking so long even though my medicals are all normal

Do you know what's the reason for the delay?

Hi want to fly!

Read back along this thread to find a LOT of useful information about the interview in general and also in detail!
But just to sum it up for you: first usually you attend an open day (OD) which consists of a presentation of the recruitment team (usu two girls) and a question session after that - then you hand in your CV and a picture (full size and document, they define that in an information email you MIGHT receive after you apply online, on Qatars webpage) and they tell you that the ones selected/shortlisted to the assessment next day will be called back by around 6 pm. The OD is free to attend and anybody can show up without invitation.
Next day you will have an assessment day if shortlisted with first an English test, really basic nothing to worry about (Im an English teacher so I should know ) and some group discussions after that. They also measure your height to check if you can reach the minimum requirement (212 cm on tiptoes). Along these thing they narrow down the group of applicants and in the end only about 15-20 people are invited to the final interview the next two days.
As far as I know in the final interview you have a very friendly chat with the interviewers about tipical stuff... you have to give a lot of examples of your skills that will help you be a CC. This does not take more than half an hour.
After all this if you are still in they tell you that they will inform you within 3-4 weeks if you are gonna be offered a job or not.
I hope I could help you out to see how it is. Good luck on your AD if you decide to attend one! And I do recommend reading back here in this thread, they give a LOT of useful advice!

Thanks, you have no idea how relieved I am about that piece of information! Thank you so much for that....you are a star

Did anyone attend the Manchester OD? How was it and how many people came along?

Cheers

The Requirement

I found this piece of information from here and it says:

The position is based in Doha in Qatar and offers a competitive tax-free package of over US $1,370 per month plus hotel meal allowances, free furnished sharing apartment accommodation, medical insurance and airline benefits inclusive of Airline tickets. Career prospects and personal development opportunities are tremendous in a dynamic and challenging environment.
You should be:
  • 20-25 years old (with no cabin crew experience)
  • 25-30 years old (with cabin crew experience)
  • Minimum height of 157.5cm for females and 168.0 cm for males
  • Well educated with a good command of written and spoken English
  • Previous Airline, Customer Service, Nursing or Hospitality/Travel trade experience would be a definite advantage
Preference will be given to candidates with excellent communication skills and customer service experience. Please note that not all application are guaranteed a reply due to the volume of applications received.

I was not aware of (25-30 years old with cabin crew experience) requirement!!! Does that mean that I should not be wasting my time to for the OD in SG on 13th June? I am 29 with NO cabin crew experience but only customer service experience. Should i still go for it? I have just booked my flight this morning to Singapore....

Cazzycazz,

Why do you keep looking for old information instead of checking their website where they actually have written out their requirements? If you were to check it you would see that you have to be at least 20 years old with no stated upper age limit!

Shoegirl,

It's been answered to many times!

If it's an open day need not to apply. If it's an assessment day you need to be shortlisted and invited. Requiremens and skills that they want are listed on their homepage!

I don’t know from which year you get the information. What I can tell you is I was in the Open Day end of March 2009. There are some peoples who are 30 years old and have NO cabin crew experience. One girl has already got her medical cleared and will depart this week to DOH.
There was also a question on the first day from the applicant to the recruiters, whether QR has an age limit or not. The recruiters were smiling and told us that currently they have NO Age limit. She even makes a joke like if you are 40 years old but you look like 25 then it is of course okay. So I think it depends on your appearance.
So don’t get into stress. Just go there and give your best!!
