bobo - Yet again, good luck with the medicals. Let me know when I'll get to meet you here.

zackira - I went to Newcastle open day on Feb 14th. Don't worry about not having anyone in this forum attending UK open days. To be honest there's less people turning up in the UK for QR, meaning you got more chance to stand out.

Thanks

Well I attended the FI and they were awesome and nice and friendly but I feel like I wont be chosen :S coz i talked with some of the other applicants and tey had so much more to offer XD they spoke more languages and they had way more customer service experience... and im just a little friendly looking girl XD
otherwise everything was nice. usual stuff what i said before too. OD: they told me on the spot to come next day lol coz my phone number wasnt local and i think they coudlnt call it so i think they really decide if ure shortlisted or not on the spot.
AD which i failed last time (this is for those who dont wanna give up XD): english test height checking and group discussion (be very confident and dont be aggressive or speak over others) then selection then another group discussion and another selection. this time there was a morning group and then an afternoon group from 2!
FI: last two days, you have half an hour, friendly chit chat, all you have to do is tal about your experiences mainly how you deal with ccustomers and how well could you live in doha XD that means you shouldnt look sensitive like i do. i think this didnt come out too well for me...
ask me things if youre interested in more good luck to you all!!!

Thanks for that! I guess i should be more relieved and not the other way round. I just wish there was someone else on the forum attending as well, you know, to share the anxiety. But you are right about the 'standing a better chance' bit nonetheless.

Cheers

Assesment Day in Brisbane

Hey guys,

Just wondering if anyone has had news yet inviting them to the AD in Brisbane on the 21st of June. I applied on line just over a week now. They say that if you haven't received an invitation you havent been shorlisted.
Has anyone received an invitation?

Cheers.

Open Day London

Hey all....I am planning to attend the Open Day at Heathrow for Qatar Airways...however I don't currently have my passport. It's with the Home Office, as I am in the process of applying for an extension for my UK visa (I have an Australian passport). I can cancel my extension and have the passport returned, but I don't want to do this until I know for sure that I have a job with Qatar.

Does anyone know if they can wait for the passport, or do they need it immediately? Ie should I even bother going to the Open Day?

Any help will be much appreciated.

Thanks.

They don't really need your passport until you have been medically cleared as that's when they usually apply for your entry visa.

I think everybody should give the Open Day a go. It is such an enjoyable and interesting experience. I attended Cape Town Open Day just over two weeks ago and I made it through to the Final Interview. I think it went well but I have a feeling I was a little bit too honest and I admitted that re-locating to Doha is going to be a challenge but it is something I would love to do and would take on with all I have! It has been two weeks since my FI and now I am waiting for an e-mail either with good news or bad news. I feel ill I am so anxious!

icyjang,

I was declined for having 18 degrees scoliosis and I know someone that got in with 15degrees so I am thinking that is the maximum they will take,

Good luck

Thank you for your answer.

Have you tried another x-ray? may be ,the degree reduced.

I understand your feeling but don't be sad. Let's moving forward

Anyway, for myself, I try not to be negative or positive becauseThe result is uncertainty.

I think 15 degrees is the most you can have!
