PrivatAir

Merry Christmas to all!
I got a date for the PrivatAir interview in January but applied quite some time ago.I was honest and stated that I don't speak German in the application form...I saw in one of the posts that there will be a test in German...I hope is OK that I don't speak it if I was invited for an interview...otherwise wasting my time and money I guess!

guys it is a german, well swiss airline... of course you HAVE to speak german. they are a bit messy with the intervies. I applied, and after a year I got invited for the interview. By that time I forgot i have applied... Training is in English but most of the trainees are german speaking people, so during the brakes etc everyone speaks german... on the plane as well you have to speak german to pax. there is also a test during the interview plus when they check your papers, the chit chat is in german. Basically, its like being in company;s availability. The routes change like the english weather, the bases as well. Staff tickets are expensive and the service not that great!!! pax are given portable dvd players for the movies!!! the company demands that you have the rights to live and work in the eu. They provide a letter for us visa, but appart from that they dont do anything, or at least when I joined them. So please please ask them before you go, and let them know of your situation regarding rights to work for them. Also ask them about german. Thinks might change, but evryone speaks german. They are quite messy with cvs etc so maybe they made a mistake and invited for an interview someone that does not speak it. Dont forget that flights are operated on behalf of lufti, so announcements have to be made in german, and maybe it is you that have to make them. I hope I helped!!!

PTI

Well, I am not sure, but I heard and read that from MUC they will fly on behalf of LH to TAS and IKA.
And from FRA on behalf of LH to PNQ, BAH, KRT.
EWR is just on behalf of Swiss from ZRH.

@ vertigowerty - you could try to being more polite in your answers and dont put us her as some nerds if we don't know anything about PrivatAir. This is a Forum to share! information not to make people feeling stupid that they ask something. Thank you! As your experience with Pti hasn't been the best maybe; doesn't mean that others need to feel the same like you do.

@GhostPax - 1600euro? after taxes?? when based in Zurich I guess it's more as in Suisse is only 20% tax but not sure about that fact.

@ farfallina - Yes they have standby duties however no Airport Standby. Training is four weeks in Geneva and Zurich.

wish you all the best during the interviews;

Happy Newyear!

Hi everybody.
Does anyone of you have a successful interview with PrivatAir without German language knowledge?

I wonder if English will be enough as language.

Thank You

@ Dark Avenger - English and German are mandatory. However I don't know which level of German is needed to get hired by the company. Neither if this only verbal or as well on paper.

All other languages are a plus.

And I was working for a german airline and we flew the most time domestic and had FAs which were from other countries with real "bad" german and they were working for a german airline....
I am always applying even if I dont match all requirements and thats the best I could do, because when I started to work in Spain I had no spanish knowledge, really nothing, not just a word and they required that and look they took me!

privatair interview

HELLO and happy new year also to you .
well i guess the best thing is to call them directly and ask .
otherwise let s just go . I ve have heard that the interview is in English and then there is a test in german . but im not sure about all of this .
I dont speak german , i could say some basic welcome in german . i do speak dutch and when I applied a year ago the amsterdam base was available , that s why i applied . now things are different . I really dont know .
I also dont know why they call even if we didnt write that we speak german. may be they need people ... who knows .
I did already the flight ticket so I have to go anyway.......
cos I thought about that after.
so if any one of you call them , please let me know what they say.....

big hug

I agree with you, kein Deutsch kein Arbeit, so is my opinion that, as many airlines, they contact eveyone sent a cv or an application form but at the interview stage they do a screeming and just few people will pass the assessment day, I also did not book any flight or hotel because I still need to think about it also because I think the salary is not so good... 1650 euros per month abroad...
