Amiri..Doha.... Good luck! My mind they have some problems with getting CC at all...maybe there is "something" why they dont want to go there at all. I refused cos they offered 12 days off in A YEAR plus 45 or something annual leave, still 12 days off a year is...thank you but no thank you-why they cant offer something else as VIP like month on month off or few weeks on and off . But still I have 4 mails in my mailbox if not more asking to go for interview in doha and they keep and keep making new interview dates there and promising to cover all flying expenses and hotel....

Amiri - Doha

Klea

I am waiting on a start date with them. Do you have any information on them or do you know someone who is already out there working for them? I have been trying for over 3 years to get into VIP.

I applied in June and my interview was in November after a few cancelled dates.

Smile Private flying jobs

Hi, does anyone know any private flying recruitment jobs or agencies for me to look into. Ive been flying for nearly 3 years. Ideally I would like an Australian, European, New York or middle east base as I am already based in Dubai and from Australia. Thanks heaps.

Amiri- Doha

lauralou- no Im not in there, just told what I thought was a bit weird.... Just got in my first VVIP after 1 year of trying but at least thats in Europe. Amiri in Doha is really nice..I guess... I would love to try as they asked me to attend the interview SO many times but I mean...did you know about those 12 days off a year and are you ok with that?
myza- how are you doing girl?? Why didnt you try amiri before April? Did you also got those millions of emails with all the offers to pay your stay and all travel costs to Doha?

Klea I think you might be focusing on that 12 days a bit much

You get 42 days annual leave and those 12 days are extra flexible days

Yes technically you may have to work every day but they also said in all probability you will only fly about 10 days a month.

Dont know...maybe, but still 12 days for me was not enough, then its the same like Qatar airways, Etihad or Emirates when you actually live in UAE. I like middle east its not about that... and know cant compare Amiri with Emirates but think if its VIP then they have to offer something better like 2 weeks on 2 off or 1 month off one on-something like that. To my mind VIP flying is something after you have been flying commercial and then you reach higher- to fly as VIP FA and with that comes all the benefits not only better salary and fancy planes but something else as well- like more free time and fantastic roster. Even in EU its either freelance what they offer or like...well for example Global jet concept offers 2 weeks on 2 off so you can go home to where ever youre from. Maybe cant say Amiri is bad as for first experience on basis- cant ask much-get your first experience and then go to somewhere else where its better but I dont want to change companies like socks you know....
Dont get me wrong Im not saying its a bad place- I applied my self and was jumping around when they called but when they mentioned 12 days off a year...well with those 45 its 57 together...almost 2 months and I get it its a lot but I still stick with what I said before- VIP needs rotational roster otherwise its any other ME company but with better money

Amiri Qatar

Hi peeps,

I'm flying private at the moment in the UK & went for an interview with Amiri in Jan. Waiting for my contract and start date now. Not knowing when I'm starting is driving me crazy, I'm not sure if it'll be a matter of weeks or months at this stage and they are giving nothing away. I'm quite surprised people are waiting for start dates, I got the impression they needed people over there asap.

I know the job might not be 100% perfect but it's actually quite hard to get into Amiri. It wasn't an easy assesment day and I have been to a few. Besides it's an honour to be asked to fly for the royal family and I think they can have the pick of the bunch.

Also whoever said we only work 10 days a months, that's a bit worrying. I thought they said it was 10 nightstops a month. The good allowance money is made in nightstops - I think it was circa $250 a night.

I'm really excited although I remember from the interview that you have to take your holiday in two parts, which I took to mean that really you can only go home twice a year - and only one ticket is paid for. Can anyone else remember that or have I made that up? If that's the case, that is the only thing that bothers me but nothing is insurmountable, will just involve careful planning.

Amiri

Hi Cava Queen, I'm also waiting on a start date and my interview was in November. I'm currently up in Edinburgh. Looking forward to meeting you. I get the impression they will train us all together but who knows. I got a call this week asking where I will be flying home to but that's all I've heard. Also I'm pretty sure it's 2 flights home a year. Keep in touch

I got my contract last night!!

I may have been the one holding things up ( Sorry kids!) Some things came up on my medical that I had to get looked at further and I only got everything to them a couple of days ago.

Hope we get started soon I haven't worked since Nov so I am bored and broke!

Cava I remember them saying 2 annual leave tickets and I think you could even take your leave in more than 2 lots you just have to pay for the tickets yourself but don't quote me on that.

@ Ithaca,

It's a SAAB operation in Scotland so you can't be too tall!
I wonder how "VIP"-ish a SAAB can be but you never know...

Lauralou, Pinkus, V.V.I.P Mudifa

Sorry would have replied earlier but been on hols for a week. Glad to hear the general consensus is that there isn't a set limit on the number of times we can take leave, I think only being able to see friends and family just once or twice a year would be quite hard.

I recieved my contract and sent all my details off to them as well. I notice the contract didn't specify variable pay which I gather is quite normal as it isn't pay they can guarantee? At least the basic pay is enough to keep our heads above water if work is slow....

Has anyone seen the accomodation or know anything about it? I came across a site the other day with tips on moving to Qatar if any of you are interested; www.qatarliving.com

What is the social scene like over there? Do we mingle with Qatar crew much? Or will they hate us because we earn more?

This is all dead exciting - keep in touch & look forward to meeting you guys.

x x

I have been there a few times with my previous company. For a couple of days at a time.

Let's be realistic it isn't Dubai. But I went to a couple of different bars and they were all packed with people.

I guess its what you make of it. At least with this job your training batch is an in built social network.

Not sure how much interaction we have with Qatar Airways crew. The 2 companies are completely separate now. Socially I don't know... From what I hear they keep a pretty tight leash on their cabin crew. They have a curfew and have to swipe into their building 12 hours before a flight etc etc

Not sure about the long distance thing....
I used to have a boyfriend in London when I lived in UAE but I was flying commercially so would always request/swap for UK flights and could visit on days off. But with no schedule and no id90's not so easy.

Netjets Europe

Am I being really thick here??? I'm trying to find the careers section at Netjetseurope.com but can't find it anywhere. I know they are not recruiting now, but still there should be a section about jobs etc. Netjets.com which is the US version has the careers section saying that although they are not accepting applications at the moment you can still register and send them your CV to be kept on file. Any help/advice please for Netjets europe please???

Can someone please tell me, as VIP flight attendants do we get ID tickets for us and family or friends? For example in Net Jets. Thank you very much.

ID tickets?
never heard of VIP company giving you one....(but maybe I am wrong)
ME companies will fly you in and out if you work on rotation
but they will not fly in or out your family or friends
