did anybody apply to Kalair through aviation job search? Have you received a response?

I applied and haven't heard a thing. Would love the opportunity to at least get an interview.

Thanks

I'd applied once some time ago, never heard anything from them....
I know that they invited some people for interview that time and some of them got month trial. I dont know what happened next and why they are recruiting again...

I applied once years ago and heard back straight away but after a little pprune research found out about the one month trial thing and at that time wasn't prepared to give up my job for a maybe. So I politely cancelled my interview with plenty of notice.

I applied this time around and heard NOTHING. A girl I know was invited for an interview, she has very little commercial experience and no private. And, with out sounding too b****y it certainly wasn't a looks thing!

I have found with this kind of aviation they want what they want and you can't make yourself crazy trying to work out what that is.

I recently applied for another job along with a friend who has similar experience to me and I got an interview and she didn't. When I went to the interview I was VERY surprised that she didn't when I saw the standard of some of the girls there.

All you can do it apply for as many jobs as possible and hope for the best!

Post PrivatAir Suisse Recruitment

Hi all,

I have been invited for a interview for cabin crew with PrivatAir at Zurich.
Can anybody give me some info about how the assesment will be?
Is there a time-frame for that day? It starts at 9am but till ..... hr??
Training will be in English/German/French?

How is living in Zurich area? Is it easy to find a nice appartment for even important a nice rent :-) Living standard? Tax?
I'm from France so I'm used to all kind of taxes :-)

I know staff travel start from the 6th month of working within the company is this on KLM / LH and Swiss flights only or also other carriers?

Layovers? I assume New York is 24hrs or by any chance longer?

Thank you for sharing any info you have of living and working in Zurich and for PrivatAir.

Hi Kawaiidesune!

Are you still working for PrivatAir?

I have my interview next month and I am very excited! Can you tell me something about the interview and do you get to know the same day if you have passed?

I am looking forward to your reply.

Regards,

Flygirl

Angel PrivatAir

Thnx GhostPax!

I am pretty sure the training is mainly in English as all the flight safety terms are in English...but I expect partly in German as well.....I prefer it in English!!!

I hope I can be based in ZHR as well! Can you speak out your preferences at the assessment day you think???

What day do you have your assessment in January??? Mine is on the 8th.....

I read on a German forum that PrivatAir will only hire about 30 new cabin attendants...Not sure if this is true!! That's not many!!!

I was there a while ago for the interviews, wasn't impressed at all with the way they conducted that day, hope it has changed.

I believe it's only LH flights, that will be Pune/Cairo/Bahrein/Tel Aviv or Dammam.
Relatively short trips, therefore not alot of days off necessary between flights.
Not alot of time difference either, so that's good!
I vaguely remember there was a difference in Swiss and German contracts when it came to salaries as well.
Do the math if you plan on commuting, full fare tickets can be costly:
http://www.pprune.org/cabin-crew-wan...ml#post4485753

Anyway, good luck to all that are going to the interviews.
My two cents: get some hard (financial) facts on paper before you consider spending the €€€ on their interview....

@Ghostpax: Are you sure you'll get ID75/ID90 tickets when it is only a seasonal contract, i doubt it!
If it is a fulltime position you'l get discount tickets after three or six months, depending on the base.
I also remember that i had to pay for my hotel during the six week training because Privatair considered the base your home and therefore doesn't reimburse any costs.

Ghostpax, i am just curious how you'll manage.
If you make € 25000 per year you'll roughly end up with about € 1400 per month after taxes, asuming you pay them in Germany being not-Swiss.
Rental for a small/basic place in ZRH will cost you about € 500 per month.
You'll then need some money for public transport, food etc.
If you can comute four times by plane between Germany and ZRH for € 600 it would be pretty cheap!
Add it all up and your not left with much to spend.
But than again,it's just my opinion, not a verdict....

I am not pessimistic, but a practical realist
As i wrote Ghostpax in a pm, i wish all applicants the best, including him/her?.
I am far from furious and not in the market for this line of work anymore, i moved on to smaller planes...

quHi... pti is recruiting and have courses starting in feb just for 8 months. there are 2 or 3 positions for permanent contarcts in zrh. the rest is fra and muc. Interview is easy, it is in english. you get staff tickets only with lx and lh after 3 and 6 months, but tickets are expensive. You can put your name for a transfer list. I was in zrh before, it was really expensive, it took me ages to transfer to germany. company is not that great, its a big mess with destinations changing all the time according to what routes lufthansa wants to "get rid off" but they will offer you only seasonal 8 months contracts for now, with a potential to be permanent att he end... Overall not the best place to work, so if you have an alternative go for that one. I am leaving pti in a few months, have had enough. training is in english, interview in english with a german test.

ps they will give you a letter to go the embassy for a us crew visa.(most of you will not need it as you will be going to tehran only in a few months as Lh is giving out that route) you can live in zrh with a eu passport. switzerland s in the eea, not in the eu so its ok. for any more estions ask.

To make things more clear, this is the letter that was sent to other people from the selection team. names have been omitted. they will tell you it is seasonal at the interview...typical pti. plus if you choose another base, if they offer you only zrh for example, you will have to pay for your accomodation while they train you in zrh.

Dear all,

I am very pleased to announce that the February course has been confirmed. It will begin on the 15th February in Zurich.

That this for an 8 months seasonal contract that might be continued at the end. Again, we cannot promise anything, but the strong and successful relation we have with our customer and partner Lufthansa allows us to say that the maybe you can stay in the company at the end of the contract.

As previously communicated, we are looking for Cabin Crew Members for our MUC and FRA bases. In addition, a few positions will be offered in ZRH - the priority will be given to those of you who live in or close to Zurich. Once again, there is no need for you to re-apply or pass another interview; if you wish to join, the position is yours.

I will now cover some of the topics/questions I have received this week:

• SALARY PACKAGE FOR SEASONAL CONTRACTS
We are still working on that point, but the conditions should be the same as the package we introduced to you during the interview day. A detailed contract will be sent to you in due time for approval.

• AMSTERDAM BASE
We are not recruiting for our AMS base, and there is nothing in sight for the time being.

• COMMUTING
We do not request our Cabin Crew to live at their base’s vicinity and don’t have any airport standby. This said, keep in mind that you are entirely responsible for you commuting arrangements and costs.

• STAFF TRAVEL
You will be entitled to staff travel / ID tickets with both SWISS and Lufthansa but only after respectively 3 and 6 months (for both your commuting and private travel needs). The fares are approximately equivalent to ID75 for SWISS (75% off the highest full price) and ID90 for Lufthansa. Whatever your base is, you can take advantage of both airlines staff tickets - and the same stands for your registered life-partner. Also, PrivatAir employees have the same stand-by travel priority than Lufthansa staff.

• WAITING LIST FOR FUTURE OPENINGS
Yes, we will keep your file if you cannot join us now, but once again we cannot tell how long you will need to wait (for AMS openings, MUC full time positions, etc...), and we always give priority to our internal transfer list before recruiting externally.

Finally, now that the course is confirmed I would need you (if not done yet) to rapidly inform me if you would like join us at this occasion or not. Also, please let me know about your base preference MUC / FRA / ZRH - choose one primary and a second as back up.

I remain of course at your disposal for any other questions and already wish you the best for the coming week.

Kindest regards,

Smile Flygirl10 is excited about PrivatAir!!!!

Thank you vertigowerty, for the clear information. I guess I am still motivated to work for them and for me it is a new challenge in my life and I am looking forward working for them.....So no positive experiences about PrivatAir at all for you???

Another question......
On their website there is a list of all current en coming operations:

Current Operations On Behalf Of Partner Airlines

Will I only fly to those destinations from the particular base?? Or can there be ad hoc differences in the schedules....???For example, flying to Rome....?

Thank you very much in advance!!!

Amiri - Qatar

Hi girls,

Is there anyone from the Dubai interview still waiting to hear? All the girls, (except from me), from UK day have been told. I've been told they are still doing security checks but I've been waiting patiently for 5 weeks.

Many thanks.
