I applied some time ago for the Beech 1900 F/O job. I'd given up hearing, but this afternoon got the telephone interview and a invitation to the assesment day in Farnborough this thursday (11/10/07). That only gives me 1 full day to prepare.
Having read through this mammoth thread, I'm a bit worried. I have 1300 hours TT with about 700 MEP but zero multi crew time. Any advice for the sim ride with regard to multi crew ops ?
Hopefully they'll take into account my lowish hours, but would it reflect badly if I dropped into conversation that I've had only 1 day to prepare ?

you should be prepared 24/7.... Corporate life . you are not going to receive an invite to operate out of irkusk 3 months before....
You will show who and what you are, I like to do the sim rides after a 10 hours day...

Interview preparation
Many of the posters so far have recommended studying JAR Ops in preparation for the interview. I did the UK National exams some seven years ago and have been flying in the Military ever since. Suffice to say, my knowledge of JAR Ops might be lacking somewhat!
Any suggestions as to which publication may best help me out here? Also, there has been some mention of the Cathay book. What is this?
Thanks in advance!

FLINTSTONE....
Sorry for the late reply, have to go inside the Organised Memo System to pull it out.
FIRST DAY OF TOUR
Maximum daily duty and consequent rest on the first day of a flying tour.
To further combat any possible fatigue on the first and following days of a tour, the company will implement the following from the 1st January 2007:
The maximum planned time from airline check-in to 30 minutes after blocks-on on the first day of a tour will be limited as per the table below. The subsequent rest period will be (as a minimum) equal to the time from airline check-in till 30 minutes after blocks-on, or 11 hours whichever is greater. If required, this rest period can be reduced with the same restrictions and requirements as any other rest reduction.
The INAC have agreed that for calculation of the weekly duty limits the accountable flight duty period on day 1 of a tour will commence at arrival at the FBO on the first day of a tour.
These measures will be published in the next OM-Part A chapter 7 revision which will contain all flight and duty time limitations.

I got the thumbs up today from Netjets for the Beech 1900 F/O job (excellent ).
Before I accept the offer I'd like to check I've understood the basics of the tax issue ;
as a Uk based employee I will pay 25% income tax in Portugal plus 8% national insurance in the UK ; so I'll pay 33% on my gross basic...is that right?
Buzz
ps, do you get the per diem payment for the time spent at INDOC ?

As a UK National living in the UK, you'll pay the standard tax rates for the UK.
Yes, you get your per diems while on Indoc. You'll need an account that can accept directly as that's what your per diems are. Your salary can be converted to Ģ and paid directly to a UK Sterling account. Weird I know.

I am not sure if I understand the question?
It comes out of your gross pay from looking at my payslip.

Hi all.
I know this question was asked at about page 40 of this thread, but it didn't recieve an answer ..............
I need to provide a Disclosure Scotland cert to Netjets showing I have no criminal record. Having looked on the D.S website I see there are a number of options. Can anyone advise which is the certificate I need to get ? I'm guessing it's just the basic certificate showing I have no unspent convictions... ??
Any help much appreciated.

I am pretty sure it's just the basic one.
However, don't take our word for it, call HR in sunny Lisboa.

Hi everyone,
after carefull contemplation (and reading through all 50-something pages of this thread ) I decided to apply. That was at the end of september, and even after sending my application a second time three weeks later I have not received any response. I donīt think that I am lacking experience (I got about 5500hrs on a medium jet type, about 1600 in command (or at least I think I am in command most of the time )). So three days ago I called the recruitment hotline and was told by a young lady that recruitment had just recommenced and that it was just a matter of time for my call. But I always thought that the sequence was: Apply - receive confirmation of receipt per email - get phone interview. From what Iīve read here you mostly get a very quick response by email and the interview a couple of days later.. So I am wondering... will they call me? Whatīs your experience?
Best regards

how about health insurance with NetJets?
Iīve seen on the BUPA homepage that they donīt cover dental treatment and if you have a chronical desease (e.g. diabetes..) they donīt pay your medicine... Is that right? In Germany the health insurance companies pay almost everything...
