Could be Rose Bay , Sydney?
|
Crawley Bay, Western Australia? That looks remarkably like the University of WA in the background.
|
Asturias: Yes, a Saro London flying boat K9686, later lost on a mission to Norway in 1940. Not Rose Bay, though.
Well done, Dora-9 - it is indeed RAAF Crawley Bay /Pelican Point, starting point of the 3500nm Double Sunrise flights to Ceylon. As a sad footnote, the 4 Catalinas used were unceremoniously flown out to Rottnest Island and sunk in order to avoid payment to the U.S.A. under the terms of Lend Lease. https://www.ozatwar.com/ozatwar/ducrawley.htm Over to you, Dora! My old stomping ground in fact. Nothing to hand, so OH.

That looks remarkably like the University of WA in the background. |
To avoid confusion this is an adjunct to the above challenge and is nothing to do with my next challenge. |

A hangar was used in the construction of this building in 1921. A bit more tonight......... |
Poole Harbour?
|
The newsreel says Plymouth.
|
Sorry chaps I didn't mean to confuse you. The film clip of the Saro Londons was an addition to gen on the previous challenge not this new one.
So sadly it is not a 'Chippy' in Poole or Plymouth. |
New Zealand?
|
That would be fush and chups though 😂
|
Sorry Not New Zealand.

This Hotel was next to the Seaplane Station. Enlisted Men were billeted here. |
Well, definitely England with those pink knees. South coast WWI seaplane base...?
|
Use of the term 'ATM' instead of 'Cash Machine' on the chippy and 'enlisted men' rather then 'junior ranks' billeted at the hotel would indicate USA/Canada or possibly Windies.
