RegDep 5th Aug 2011 13:17

Thanks, but whats the "extra" propeller doing there (I see in the photos, too)?

HappyPass 5th Aug 2011 13:20

You know what? I was about to ask you!
Betcha LM knows the answer...
My money is on some sort of generator driven by ram air.

Lightning Mate 5th Aug 2011 13:23

Betcha LM knows the answer...

It's an air-driven generator. ;)

HappyPass 5th Aug 2011 13:30

So, only battery power when on the ground? I thought of r.a.t.s only as "last resort" devices until now...

Lightning Mate 5th Aug 2011 13:31

CAA Directive:

Aircraft classified as Annex II (non-EASA) aircraft.

Emergency generator.

RegDep 5th Aug 2011 13:35

Thanks Mate!

RegDep 5th Aug 2011 13:51

Romanian - no; project - yes Mate.

HappyPass 5th Aug 2011 14:01

Mikoyan LMFS?

Edit: OH if right
See you all soon.

RegDep 5th Aug 2011 14:21

Mikoyan LMFS project it is.

In the spirit of lively thread, HP has requested Open House and promised to be back. :ok:

Lightning Mate 5th Aug 2011 16:36

HP has requested Open House and promised to be back.
C'mon HP - RD is bored.

HappyPass 5th Aug 2011 17:11

HappyPass 5th Aug 2011 17:41

That one. :D:D
Conversion of a Nord Noralpha with a Turbomeca-Astazou turbo-shaft engine, 2 built in 1959, says Wikipedia.

evansb has the thread!:ok:

Beriev A-42

JEM60 5th Aug 2011 18:17

That's that Russian water bomber flying boat thingy whose name completely escapes me, and I am going out right now, so haven't got time to look it up. Open house if my reply is accepted.B..ga. Just beaten by a proper answer.:O

evansb 5th Aug 2011 18:26

RegDep has it. My Jane's calls it a Beriev A-40 Albatross 'Mermaid'. Perhaps it is the improved A-42 version. Regardless, you have control:ok:

Lightning Mate 5th Aug 2011 18:40

Is anyone interested in the problem with this thread?

RegDep 5th Aug 2011 18:43

Thank you evansb!

HappyPass 5th Aug 2011 18:44

A Focke Wulf of sorts?
If correct stand by for model ;)

RegDep 5th Aug 2011 18:45

None whatsoever.

HappyPass 5th Aug 2011 18:51

Aaargh! Deceived!!!
Ok, then...
Rumanian? a IAR? Maybe the 80 model?
Or... at least Axis 1939-45?

RegDep 5th Aug 2011 18:53

My source; it may be that it is a bit unclear what is A 40 and what is (will be?) the upgraded version of it, the A 42.

No way ………

(A project)

I will take a pause of about an hour for dinner, so if not cracked in five minutes, I'll let it simmer for a while. Sorry for that (not sorry for dinner ;))

HappyPass 5th Aug 2011 19:05

Have a nice dinner! :ok:
The Soko Jastreb (of 1939) and the FFVS J22 are remarkably similar... except for that tapering wing...

evansb 5th Aug 2011 19:06

Re: RegDep and the Beriev A-40. The age of the photo would indicate it is indeed an A-40.

Lightning Mate 5th Aug 2011 19:08

HP..PM replied......:ok:

HappyPass 5th Aug 2011 20:22

I have to thank Reg and his dinner (and also LM, of course ;)):
Sleeve contains now 3 shots.

RegDep 5th Aug 2011 20:50

Specification …...

HappyPass 5th Aug 2011 20:56

F.7/30....?

RegDep 5th Aug 2011 20:58

Not the 30 …..

RegDep 5th Aug 2011 20:59

The age of the photo would indicate it is indeed an A-40.
I plead no contest.

HappyPass 5th Aug 2011 21:12

...a Bristol?

RegDep 5th Aug 2011 21:14

Not Bristol but stick to B….
