First thought was some sort of American Bellanca...

But lets backtrack. Your last three challenges were...

Australian.
Chinese.
Romanian.

I wonder?

skytrain10 19th Jul 2012 12:28

I wonder?
An interesting thought - and you'd be correct:ok: Just a case of which of the 3:)

Going to break for lunch for 30 mins or so. Catch you later assuming you are still awake!

Noyade 19th Jul 2012 12:38

Enjoy lunch.

Catch you later assuming you are still awake!
I'm heading off to watch Ice Station Zebra, and pay particular attention to the Tu-95s(?) From memory they were the worst looking models made for a Hollywood movie. And were they MiGs or Sukhois rushing towards Zebra? ( I read Ernest Borgnine died recently.) Cheers.

skytrain10 19th Jul 2012 13:28

Hope you're enjoying (or have enjoyed) the film:ok:

And were they MiGs or Sukhois rushing towards Zebra?
If my memory serves me right they actually used F-4's! Accuracy in all things aviation was never a strong point in the movies:)

Lightning Mate 19th Jul 2012 16:50

Evening Ken.

I'll have a wild shot at Romanian - several features look familiar, especially that radial.

skytrain10 19th Jul 2012 16:52

I'll have a wild shot at Romanian
May have been wild David, but it was spot on:ok:
Evening:)

Lightning Mate 19th Jul 2012 18:06

I'm looking....I'm looking........

skytrain10 19th Jul 2012 18:13

I'm looking....I'm looking........
Still looking? :)

Off for dinner now - will look in later

Noyade 19th Jul 2012 21:18

actually used F-4's!
I had forgotten that! :) Yes. But there were some delta jet models - still can't determine what they were meant to be.

Looking at Romanians now (or is it Rumanians?)...the Turing?

skytrain10 19th Jul 2012 22:18

Morning Graeme

Delta jets...can't remember those but it was 20 years or so ago when I last watched it. Probably F-102/106's?

Looking at Romanians now (or is it Rumanians?)...the Turing?
That's the one, the ICAR Turing - thought that would go quickly once you worked out my devious plan! There again nobody else around today until David looked in later on.

Noyade has control, and I'll be saying good night:ok:

Noyade 20th Jul 2012 08:20

Apologies Ken, must be open house.

Probably F-102/106's?
No mate, the Ruskies were powering towards Zebra and they had models of delta jets with Russian insignias. When they arrived they cut to real footage, of F-4 Phantoms.

Still, not as bad as a documentary DVD I recently watched, titled "The Fight for the Sky - The Battle of Britain", featuring "rare archive footage", which included the usual Spitfire/Hurricane/Messerschmitt/Heinkel characters, but then P-47s, Fw-190s, B-17s and even Zeros and Corsairs were fighting over the English Channel.

Noyade 20th Jul 2012 11:02

Got there in the end. Here's one...

Noyade 20th Jul 2012 21:30

No mate, German.

skytrain10 20th Jul 2012 23:19

Morning Graeme - busy day so not had a chance to look in.

German....the Arado SD.1 maybe?

If correct will have to be Open House. Going to hit the hay now, so good night:ok:

Noyade 21st Jul 2012 07:18

Arado SD.1
Well done Ken. :ok:

Open House.

Lightning Mate 21st Jul 2012 10:36

Evening Oz. :)

Lightning Mate 21st Jul 2012 12:13

Noyade 21st Jul 2012 22:27

Lonely days mate? :)

From memory, you said it wasn't a Culver product. But I can't remember if you replied to my other questions, if it was American or a Drone of sorts?

The nose still looks odd.

Lightning Mate 22nd Jul 2012 07:24

G'day mate.

American.

Not exactly a drone, but you're on the right lines. Think weapon. ;)
