Got there, the Wittman Buttercup?

If so will have to be Open House as need to get some sleep.

SincoTC 4th Aug 2011 22:34

Well done Ken,

That's the one, the Wittman Buttercup :D. I'm pretty certain that apart from the lousy connection speed, the need for sleep hampered your search. Sleep well.

skytrain has requested an Open House :ok:

Noyade 4th Aug 2011 22:38

G'day Trevor!

skytrain10 4th Aug 2011 22:38

Cheers Trevor. You are right of course, I have seen it. The fuselage shape is remarkably similar to the Kitfox, or perhaps I should say the Kitfox is remarkably similar to the Buttercup!

Morning Graeme....and good night

Noyade 4th Aug 2011 22:40

G'day Trevor!

Nice looking plane for 1938.

Night Ken.

SincoTC 4th Aug 2011 22:48

Yes it was a looker for that time. You off to work soon? I'm gonna hit the hay shortly as I've got another early start tomorrow!

Cheers mate and have a good day, catchya later :ok:

Noyade 4th Aug 2011 22:50

You off to work soon?

HappyPass 5th Aug 2011 09:42

Morning, Reg!
Mmmh... deja vu.
Contra-rotating... nose shape...
It is German..?

RegDep 5th Aug 2011 09:46

Morning HP!

Affirmative to all.

Noyade 5th Aug 2011 09:55

Morning gents. :)

Focke-Wulf 802....?

HappyPass 5th Aug 2011 09:57

That one I was looking at...

Focke-Wulf FW Fighter Project w/ BMW 802 engine Luft '46 entry
:ouch:...

Even though I think it's the BMW P.8011 powered version. the other one is single prop (and that's why I couldn't find it in Lepage...)

Noyade 5th Aug 2011 10:02

Well mate, I was hunting for a Messerschmitt variant of the 209 and the Focke-Wulf just popped up! Ain't Google fun! :)

HappyPass 5th Aug 2011 10:04

Funny, I was thinking the same, like "Messerschmitt-style triangular tail"... :hmm:

Noyade 5th Aug 2011 10:37

If correct...open house.

I'm off to watch "Ed Wood" starring Johnny Depp. Ed Wood is regarded as Hollywood's worst director and was responsible for what is to some as the worlds worst movie..."Plan 9 From Outer Space".

There is a scene in that movie of an aircraft being attacked by flying saucers. Here is the cockpit scene. Good for a WC challenge?! :)

Cheers.

Focke-Wulf 802
Graeme has it.

Graeme has requested Open House. HP, ready, steady, …..

PS Greame: This aircraft in the movie must be a FBW. They even seem to have a wire telephone :ok:

Lightning Mate 5th Aug 2011 11:31

PS Greame
Who is Greame? :E:E

HappyPass 5th Aug 2011 12:50

Were you callin' me, Reg? :)

For the lurkers.
Nice, easy, and a beautiful hot-rod red on top of the deal.
...sleeve depleted! :}

http://img849.imageshack.us/img849/3711/scchallenge.jpg

Have fun...

RegDep 5th Aug 2011 12:50

Hi HP, saw you logged in.

I looked at the FW 802 thing, and it seems that you were right: the counter-rotating one was the FW project using BMW P.8011 engine. My source is a piece of artwork, and it was labeled as 802, as it seems to be labeled also elsewhere, on some quiz pages, too.

Ach, good, a challenge!

Good grief :ooh: Wotsat?

Kind of RAM generator test?
