Morning LM :)
Not much time to spare last week, been busy at work with a new project and a very tight deadline. Can't see any evidence for motive power, so is yours a glider-bomb? Maybe a US Navy development of the early forties? I know where to look but I'm on a borrowed computer with none of my short-cuts and I have to my brother's birthday get-together shortly, but will try and get back later! |
Morning TC. :)
You are on exactly the right track...... |
My my, still here, 'taz been quiet!!
Back and picking up the track now and I've remembered the name of the site :) I'm pretty certain it's the LBE-1 Glide-Bomb "Glomb", radio-controlled with the aid of a nose-mounted TV camera; designed by the Naval Aircraft Factory in 1943, but to be produced by Pratt-Read (Gould). Dunno if they did though! |
Thassa one mate. :D
Over to you. :ok: |
Thanks David,
Here's one for the evening/morning shift :) http://i1138.photobucket.com/albums/.../TC_wtf249.jpg |
Good evening mate. :)
I truly appreciate the time and effort you've put into colouring the glass. No doubt it's that attention to detail that makes you the successful man you are. :ok: Airwar suggests the Romano R.82...? http://img38.imageshack.us/img38/5592/gotchai.jpg |
Flattery will get you everywhere, as will the correct answer!!
It is the Romano R.82 (Aka SNCASE R.82) :D http://i1138.photobucket.com/albums/.../RomanoR83.jpg Noyade has control :ok: |
Thanks mate. Back in 20 minutes - make it Open House please, for the moment.
I think your challenge is a rare-ish Northrop....back soon. |
Thanks mate, as requested, SC is now Open House
I'll await the likely snaffling of the Challenge thread too :{ |
The Challenge Thread
Plan is to make this aircraft a silhouette soon. Cheers. http://images.ibsrv.net/ibsrv/res/sr...ies/thumbs.gif http://img802.imageshack.us/img802/2565/wutz.jpg |
A'rtnoon Graeme,
Thanks mate, I got three straight hours, which isn't bad for me :ok: Is your double challenge an Atlantic-Fokker XA-7 ?? Have to be Open House if it is, as I'm gonna be in design meetings and the workshop most of the day! |
Atlantic-Fokker XA-7 Open House. |
|
Evening Graeme - wings/tail/booms from a Cessna 337. Looks like a jet conversion? Presume those are wing tanks at the point where the booms meet the wing?
Appears to have the extended nose very much like the Spectrum and the CIRPAS Pelican, so I'm wondering if there was a jet version of one of those - or at least a proposed one. |
LBE-1 Glide-Bomb "Glomb", radio-controlled |
Thanks Martin. :ok:
|
G'day Ken.
The Pelican you mentioned above is closer in configuration - but no jet engines involved. This is a mock-up, the "intake" differs on the completed aircraft illustrated on the net. http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/4083/img109wk.jpg Tried to GIMP a front view, badly, but you can have it all the same. :) http://img814.imageshack.us/img814/4276/img108c.jpg |
Answers on a postcard .... Or just see "Challenge"! :)
|
Morning Martin, up early mate or are you away somewhere again?
A'rtnoon Graeme, not a postcard, but I've put a link on your Challenge! It looks like it is the Airmaster Avalon 680 and a good challenge too :ok: Open House please if you agree as I'm not online for most of today :( |
Nice challenge Graeme:ok: Now I see it it does look familiar, so no doubt I have a photo in a mag or Jane's or somewhere.
