Afternoon Martin, the Dyakov monoplane?

Ridge Runner 1st May 2012 16:19

Ah ha.... that's the one, Ken!!! You have Shavrov?

Skytrain10 has CONTROL

skytrain10 1st May 2012 16:25

You have Shavrov?
I found it on a website I've had bookmarked for a long time which has a link to Shavrov. I had assumed it was probably Russian by the somewhat touched up image. Just not had the time to look properly today.

Love to get hold of his books - even if they are in Russian!

Not had a chance to prepare anything so will have to be Open House.

Lightning Mate 1st May 2012 16:30

Where can I find the image please?

Karlark 1st May 2012 16:44

Evening LM, try Googling the "Russian Aviation Museum".

Meanwhile, here's something quick for the open house:

Thanks mate. :ok:

Lightning Mate 1st May 2012 16:51

Is it a PTO-4?

Either that or a Miles Magister.

Karlark 1st May 2012 16:57

Yes it is the Estonian PTO-4 (Voldemar Post, Richard Tooma and Otto Org)! :ok: Your control.

If the Russian aircraft museum didn't get you there, try googling this:

Monoplane by G.A.Diakov

Lightning Mate 1st May 2012 16:58

Ah so Glasshopper - that got me there. :ok:

Sorry - missed the fact that I have control.

Lightning Mate 1st May 2012 17:04

Found this in my travels.....

Looks like the DOWA 81. But haven't we had it before?

Edit, closing down now, so assuming correct, Open House

Lightning Mate 1st May 2012 22:04

Looks like the DOWA 81. But haven't we had it before?
Well, it certainly is, but I didn't NB it.

Open House.

Ridge Runner 2nd May 2012 12:17

I can't take the silence any longer .....

Lightning Mate 2nd May 2012 13:55

'Artnoon Martin.

It appears to be unmanned.

Does it really have four wheels or is it some kind of launch dolly?

Ridge Runner 2nd May 2012 13:57

Hi David. It flies with the u/c attached! :)

Edit: yes, un-manned

Lightning Mate 2nd May 2012 14:28

Looking at the upswept tail booms and it's attitude, I imagine it's designed as a rough terrain STOL.

Lightning Mate 2nd May 2012 14:31

Unless, of course, it's the Freewing Unmanned Systems LLC Scorpion.

Ridge Runner 2nd May 2012 14:48

That's the one, David

You have CONTROL

Lightning Mate 2nd May 2012 15:06

Thanks Martin.

I'm going home in fifteen minutes and will check in again from there.
