Bromon BR-2000 it is Trevor...well done:ok: The wings on the 3-view do vary depending on where you look. I actually found it in an Observers Book of Aircraft, then went to see if it was on the web. Good article to be found here:
1989 | 0231 | Flight Archive Sadly the project was cancelled a few months after this article, allegedly due to no firm orders. Not quite the level of interest anticipated by its designers! SincoTC has control. |
Thanks Ken; that link was where I found the drawing (on the next page, where my "one word" was located).
I then had a quick look on Aerofiles and it would have been one of those perfect challenges, with the Bromon entry having no mention at all of this project and only a passing reference to the Ahrens 404 project and that was misspelt!! I'll put something up shortly (as kitchen duties permit) :) |
Here 'tiz then, apologies for quality (lack-of that is), done in a bit of a hurry!!

Strange looking machine....French homebuild?
|
'Tiz strange innit! I thought it might be one of those things that once seen, always remembered (if only you could remember where you'd seen it) :E!!
Not homebuilt and not French :) |
Broke off to watch TV....thinking about it there is something familiar about this...not sure it was on the internet though. American?
|
American? |
Yes, and somewhat like your last one, you won't find it on Aerofiles |
Hmm; if I'd said like your last one it would be, but I didn't ;)
|
Going to leave this one for the nightshift...found what I thought it was in a book, but it's not quite right - the plus is I have now inadvertently found a US aircraft that appears not to be in Aerofiles :)
Over to Graeme, Brian or anyone else who may be lurking Night night |
the plus is I have now inadvertently found a US aircraft that appears not to be in Aerofiles Sleep well :ok: |
I'm 99% sure that Brian posted this some time ago, but I can't find it on Mel's list?
The Argentine Tucan T-1. I remember being fooled by the reflection of the light on the fuselage of the photo seen in Jane's 46 edition. But then, I'm easily fooled. :) Back to the cricket. |
'Artnoon Graeme,
I can't find it on Mel's list? But then, I'm easily fooled. The Tucan T-1 was an Argentine single-engined single-seat light touring monoplane designed by Alfredo Turbay and built by Sociedad Anonima Sfreddo & Paolini. Here's a later production one sans sliding hood and spats, http://i1138.photobucket.com/albums/...Safe/Tucan.jpg Noyade has Control :ok: (be teatime soon) |
Thanks Trevor.
about getting rid of that reflection Some time ago (I think) I was looking for THAT tail (I was certain Brian had it as a challenge) and I bypassed this image because the light played with the shape... http://img845.imageshack.us/img845/2189/img336l.jpg That's the only reason why I went back to it. All in my mind? Maybe I should see a gerontologist? What I am going to see tonight though (fortunately/unfortunately?) is the Tin Tin 3D movie with the youngest son. :(:)? Open House. |
Hi Graeme,
I just had a search on the actual thread over breakfast and Brian did post the Tucan last February and you got it!! A rare omission from Mel's list! Seems like you had a good match to watch (wot no work ;)) and a Movie tonight at the hight of summer you lucky sod, hope you enjoy it, we'll expect a full report :ok: As Graeme said it is an Open House |
|
'Artnoon Martin,
Coffee time, I'm out in the workshop at the moment and just keeping an eye on my Challenge really, but I'll be thinking about your SC :), a bit quiet innit! Is it a twin pusher?? First thoughts were for a WWI period bomber, but can't see much in the way of armament! |
Hi Trevor! Happy NY! Its not a bomber, mate. It was a single motor and tractor. :)
|
I hope you have a good 2012 too mate!
Hmm, a tractor eh; so where does the unseen prop relate to the flat front end, is that end a large truncated spinner, or is that the shape of the engine cowl and the prop comes out of the flat part? As always, I've seen that tail somewhere before , is it a Yank and is it WWI or soon after? |
Ah ha... It was a single motor driving two tractor props. It was WW1 era. Not a yank. M
